TE 450 true street legal dirt bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 21, 2011I bought this bike second hand after alot of searching. Cnsidering all other makes, this bike suits my needs as a true street legal dirt bike. Owning 2 strokes my whole life and being dissapointed with most four strokes,I have found this bike to be the good compromise. The engine is strong with plenty ... of power. It has been trouble free and is used hard. Most riding has been a cross between dirt roads and single track. I have changed the gearing to a 48 tooth sprocket(a little tall)in an attempt to calm the beast. The seat foam was swapped for a lower and softer(after market) Thebike is tall and is not a good choice for shorter riders or begginers. Removal of the smog parts is a must and changes the preformance drastically. Handling is good ,suspension works with a little tweaking. Always starts easy hot or cold. Until they make a 500cc 2 stroke street legal dirt bike this bike is the next best thing.

Husky TE450 07 Review
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 24, 2009I have has this Bike for over 12 months now and I love it. It's been on a few trail rides and has been great. See subcategories below: Engine: This 450 is very torquey with a lot of compression. It is great for going up and down hills. The engine has a little vibration but it's nothing major.Starts ... really well - follow the books instructions (put choke on - open throttle fully twice then hit the starter). Never had a problem starting this way. Always use 98+ Octane unleaded for best results. I have noticed a huge power difference when using E10 unleaded. (not recommended!) 9/10 Comfort: What Comfort? The seat is as hard as a lump of timber. But hell, this bike is not made for long trips so live with it. You can get a new seat if you have issue with it. 3/10 Ride Quality: Awesome on tight Trail rides, handles jumps well. Bike is tall so it may be a bad choice for the vertical challenged. Balance is great too, doen't feel heavy (unless you need to pick it up off the ground (lol)). 9/10 Road Riding? : Forget it, change the Tyres and the Gear Ratio might help. 3/10 Reliability: No Known problems yet. (Cross Fingers). Service pricing is quite reasonable (not what I expected) 9/10 Pricing: I find these great value for money, especially if you look around for a new but "last year model" 9/10 Parts Pricing: I think all motorbike parts are way overpriced.Husky parts are no more than normal. 7/10 Servicing yourself: Oil change is easy. Airfilter is ok, you need to remove the seat and battery cover. Everything else seems straight forward. I take mine to the dealer for everthing except the Oil and Air. 8/10 Other Things: on the 07, get an exhaust guard or you will melt you boots. The Radiator has no fan, although it hasn't boiled on me yet, I didn't want to take the risk. I put in Engine Ice. You can get a fan fitted if you a paranoid. They do run hot! Overall: I love this bike, If it gives me troblefree operation for another year, I may consider upgrading to a newer model. 9/10
