My F800 GS
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 27, 2011Just purchased an 08 F800GS with less than 10K miles. Its light, easy to manage, with adequate (but not super) power. Nice pick up on the front end. Manageable on dirt as well.
The heated grips are great, as are the factory bags. Instrument panel is great, with fuel, temp and tire ... pressure gauges.
Its also a really sexy bike.

800 GS impressions
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 18, 2011I recently purchased a new 2011 800 GS and am quite satisfied. It replaces my KTM 990 adventure. Compared to my KTM, the BMW feels smoother and less cumbersome albeit less powerful. It gets better gas milage and is more ergonomically correct while standing. The GS is easy to service. The oil filter ... and drain bolt are very accessible, oil changes are a 10 minute job with no screens or bodywork to fuss with. The ABS defeat switch is within easy reach of your left thumb and operates without turning the bike off. This makes on/off road transitions simple. The bike works very well off road and will be even better with more aggressive tires. The non-adjustable fork does an adequate job as well as the rebound/preload adjustable shock. The motor is a bit buzzy over 5000 rpm but is acceptable. The seat is firm but does break in with a few miles. The grip heaters are fantastic. Overall a great package enhanced with a 36 month warranty and roadside assistance. If you require luggage, Givi and Wolfman are the hot setup. The BMW luggage is great but a bit over priced and heavy.
