Jake Holden signs to race spec series

Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona Racing is entering the new AMA Pro Racing Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson XR-1200 series.

The entry marks the return of Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona Racing to AMA Pro Road Racing competition since the closing of Buell.

We have all missed being at the races this season, says Shelly Rossmeyer Pepe. The new XR-1200 class gives us a series to go race in the AMA with a bike we are selling in our showrooms.

Jake Holden has signed on to race for the team for the entire 2010 season. Geico Powersports and Lucas Oil will sponsor the team.

I'm excited and looking forward to racing for the RMR championship winning team! I can't wait to throw a leg over this Harley-Davidson and by the looks of this bike it should be fun to ride, says Holden.

The Rossmeyer Daytona Racing Team is returning to AMA competition in the Harley-Davidson XR-1200 series.

While Holden will be the Rossmeyer-Geico-Lucas team's only full-time rider, the team will enter a second bike throughout the season with select guest riders.

Reigning Daytona Sportbike Champion Danny Eslick will be the first guest rider, competing in the series' debut at Road America in June. Eslick will race at Road America under the theme of In Memory of Bruce Rossmeyer, honoring the late dealership owner.

The Rossmeyer team will also prepare additional racebikes for individual racers with the proper credentials on a first-come first-served basis. Kyle Wyman of Wyman Brothers Racing has already reserved a ride for Road America.
