The streets of Las Vegas will come aliveto the roar of thousands of V-twins this October as Ducati enthusiasts fromacross the nation gather for the inaugural Ducati Revs America (DRA).Modeled on the famous World Ducati Weekend, which is held biannually inItaly, DRA promises to be the largest gathering of Ducati motorcycles inAmerica.

The event, Scheduled for October 26-28, 2001 and hosted by Ducati North America, was conceived after the hugesuccess of the two World Ducati Weekends. Discussions had taken place toexpand the Ducati celebration beyond its Italian homeland, and America isthe first country to run with the idea...

Organizers plan to use many of thefeatures that make WDW so successful, and then add just the right amount ofAmerican flavor.

There will be track time available on the 1.1 mile Las Vegas Speedway roadcourse for riders on their own machines, plus demo rides on the latestDucati models, riding instruction, technical workshops, industry displays, stunt riding exhibitions, history seminars and much more. Some big namesfrom the World Superbike scene will be in attendance, alongside some of ourbest local heroes (Maybe this is where Elvis will make his comeback -- Minime).

Motorcycles will dominate the three days but there is a smorgasbord of otherentertainment for participants. The headlining band will be named soon forthe live concert. Richard Petty Driving Experience is giving DRAparticipants the chance to drive in a Nascar vehicle, Sotheby's will auctionmotorcycle memorabilia to raise money for Riders for Health and an authenticItalian village will give visitors a feel of the Mediterranean.

You don't need to own a Ducati to attend DRA; the event is open to riders ofall makes and models. You simply need a passion for the Italian marque.

Ducati North America has negotiated discounted hotel rates and bike transportfor DRA participants as well as tours of the Art of the Motorcycleexhibition, direct from the Guggenheim Museum, which will show throughoutOctober in Las Vegas. Most activities center on the Las Vegas Speedway butthe grand finale will be the group parade on Sunday evening, down Las Vegas'main drag, to conclude the three day event. With thousands of motorcyclesexpected to attend, it should be a spectacular sight.

Later this month you will be able to reserve your place at DRA by visitingthe Ducati e-store at the Ducati website www.ducati.com. Forms to registerby mail or fax will be included in the DRA 2001 brochure that will beavailable at your local Ducati dealer by mid June.
