Ducati Tests After Sugo Race

The Ducati Infostrada World Superbike Championship factory team completed atwo-day Michelin tire test at Sugo on Monday 30th April / Tuesday1st May, just 24 hours after Sunday's round four of the race at theJapanese circuit.

The two-day test, with Troy Bayliss and Ruben Xaus present for DucatiInfostrada, was hit by poor weather with occasional rain showers and strongwinds, while air and ground temperatures dropped to 5° and 10°C respectivelyon Tuesday...

Ducati Infostrada's French supplier provided a series of new tires for thetest and both riders were able to complete a full session despite thedifficult conditions.

Troy Bayliss, who finished 13th and 15th in Sunday's two races, recorded anunofficial best time of 1m30.5s on race tires and 1m29.9s on softerqualifying rubber. The times were a slight improvement on those recorded bythe Australian during the Sugo race weekend and are to be consideredpositive given the conditions.

Ruben Xaus recorded his best time of 1m32.5s on Monday, when he also crashedharmlessly for the third time in four days at the circuit.

The Ducati Infostrada team will be back in action at Monza, Italy from 11-13May for round 5 of the World Superbike Championship.
