It was the late John Britten who was once asked why, ofall things, did he choose tobuild a motorcycle. It hasto be remembered that theguy was a successful landdeveloper, an architectand a glass craftsman."Because it is not too big aproject," was his answer. And indeed, coming tothink of it, all you need tobuild a bike is really a goodtube bending machine, alathe, a milling machineand a pair of extremelyco-ordinated hands.

Umberto Borile must havethought along the samelines. He rented a littlebooth at the 1999 Milan show to expose the fruit of his labor for the entire world to see. And the bike on display there was so unlike anything else on show, we had to get our man in Italy to give his new Borile B500CR a go...

Take a look at Yossef's story and let us know what you think about the bike. Is it something you'd ever consider or is it just a cool design exercise? We think it's cool, anyway. We like weird things.

MO: We put the fun back in dysfunction.
