We just got comfirmation from a spokesperson at Suzuki who confirmed that Daytona 200 and last year's AMA Superbike Championship winner Mat Mladin has fractured his left ankle in an off-road incident in Australia.

After speaking with Yoshimura's race team, he confirmed the injury, but noted that Matt didn't actually crash. "He might have lost his footing, but he didn't go off the bike. He continued riding, but something didn't feel right..."

He had the foot x-rayed and it was confirmed that he had a small fracture in his left ankle. Mat is set to have the ankle pinned today or tomorrow, causing him to miss out on the AMA test that starts tomorrow at Road Atlanta.

The spokesperson said Mat, "didn't seem too concerned about it," and that he should be ready in time for Sears Pojnt.
