BMW will be revealing its 2024 R 1300 GS next week, but photos of the new adventure bike have leaked online, revealing its styling and other details.

MV Agusta has taken us on quite a journey with its Lucky Explorer Project adventure bikes. First, we saw the Lucky Explorer 9.5 and 5.5 in prototype form at EICMA in 2021, and last year, Alan Cathcart had a chance to test the 9.5 prototype. We’re now well into the 2024 model launch season, and still waiting for the bikes to enter production, with word that the 5.5 model has been delayed indefinitely. And now, Motorcycle.com can confirm that the Lucky Explorer 9.5 is getting rebranded with the much more MV-esque name “Enduro Veloce”.

American Honda officially announced the XL750 Transalp, bringing the middleweight adventure bike to the U.S. market. The Transalp slots into Honda’s lineup between the Africa Twin and the CB500X, while offering more off-road capability than the NC750X DCT.

Ducati has revealed the new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, a long-distance traveler designed for comfort and safety. Fully loaded with luggage, front and rear radars and creature comforts like heated grips and seats, Ducati describes it as the “most complete Multistrada V4 ever.” The 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour will land in dealerships very soon, with an MSRP of $28,395.

Road-going V-Strom coming for 2024

Honda has submitted certification data in Switzerland for updated Africa Twin models, with evidence of substantial changes in store for the adventure-tourer.

As expected, BMW announced a new middleweight adventure lineup for 2024 with the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure, and F 800 GS, replacing the previous F 850 and F 750 models. While all three models receive updates including a larger displacement engine, the F 900 GS in particular received additional attention with the goal of making it a sportier model better optimized for off-road riding.

Back in May, Motorcycle.com broke the news that the Honda XL750 Transalp was coming to America for 2024, arriving a year after it’s been available in Europe. While we’re glad to see the middleweight adventure bike will finally arrive stateside, we can unfortunately confirm the U.S.-spec model will produce less power than its European counterpart.

BMW has dropped teasers across its social media channels for what looks to be a new 2024 F 900 GS. The new model will be revealed on Sept. 7, likely alongside a new F 800 GS, and possibly an F 900 GS Adventure.

Bombardier Recreational Products provided a brief update on its upcoming Can-Am electric motorcycles, the Pulse roadster and Origin dual-sport. Both models are still undergoing testing while construction is underway for a new plant in Querétaro, Mexico, which will produce the electric bikes. Can-Am is aiming to launch Origin and Pulse "before the end of 2024", with final specs and pre-orders expected next summer. Until then, here are some fresh new photos of the prototypes.

Earlier this summer, BMW confirmed a new R 1300 GS model was on its way, with an official world premiere scheduled for Sept. 28. While that’s more than a month away, we now have a good idea of how much it will cost, thanks to an overzealous update on BMW’s official website.

For a brand best known for its exotic sportbikes, Ducati sure impressed us with the DesertX, its first modern off-road dedicated adventure bike. With its torquey 937cc engine, 21/18-inch wheel combo, and long-travel suspension, the DesertX was our runner-up for the Best Adventure Motorcycle of 2022 behind the Aprilia Tuareg 660. Thanks to an executive order published by the California Air Resources Board, we now know the DesertX will be joined by a new Rally variant for 2024.

As we were first to report back in January, Triumph is releasing new special edition versions of the Tiger 900 to celebrate Ivan Cervantes’ win in the 2022 Baja Aragón. The new Aragón Edition Tiger 900 Rally and Tiger 900 GT models will be offered for just one year only.

The California Air Resources Board has issued an executive order for the Honda XL750 Transalp, certifying the mid-sized adventure-tourer for the 2024 model year.
