Incredible low center of gravity
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 16, 2011I purchased this motorcycle several months ago and simply am amazed every time I ride it. The previous messages sum up the power band perfectly and I agree. This is a heavy hauling torque bike with a very low center of gravity. It is easy to flat foot at a traffic signal, and doesn't give the feeling ... of wanting to tip over as other bikes might.
The fairing is fairly stiff, and many windshield options, both third party and factory, exist. My favorite is from Clear Shields.
The fairing dash is fairly sparse with no instrumentation, but an iPOD harness rests in a little cubby hole. The audio amplifier and two speakers are "OK".
I really like this bike...

Demo Tested
By (I am an Enthusiast) on May 24, 2011Recently Star Motorcycles came to Memphis,TN and I rode the 2010 Stratoliner Deluxe. This is one bad bike. The power band was more than I was expecting. The ride was great and smooth. We finally hit the expressway and this bike really came to life. Great Job Yamaha. Special Thanks to Emily and the ... folks at Yamaha of Memphis for this demo. Also Thanks Shane for also bring this bike and many others to Memphis.

Good times
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 25, 2011I purchased the Strat Delux in August of 2010, after walking by the beast for months. I needed to transition to a bigger bike for my 600 / 210 lbs frame. Like everyone else, I wanted (thought) I wanted an HD. I rode HD's for two weeks, SG's, RK's and several other touring models. I was disappointed ... in the lack of power for the high $$$$'s of the HD. They don't pick up with a turn of the wrist as claimed, unless you do some after market work. I jumped on the Strat, hit some river roads and then to the interstate i went. When I broke my wrist over, the bike jumped like crazy, I wasn't expecting the immediate response of power...... I went back to the dealer and closed the deal. Completed the break in period, changed the oil and my two best friends and I headed out. We covered 2k miles in 4 1/2 days. Riding from Missouri to Hoover, Alabama, Gulf Port, Mississippi, Shreveport, La, Marshall, Tx's and back home. I averaged 50 miles per gal, except when smoking the boys on other touring bikes, who say it is just a copy of the HD SG. Do yourself a huge favor and ride this beast and save yourself 17 Grand!
