Why would you not buy this bike?
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 05, 2016God himself would ride this motorcycle. Smooth, streamline, comfortable, powerful and multipurpose. I can go from the highway to in town riding and feel like a boss. Great for long trips, looks amazing and has the power to pull my 6'3, 270 lbs around like it was nothing.

Quality motorcyle!
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 14, 2010Just bought the 2007 RSTD 8100 miles and over 4 years left on warranty. Ride 2 up with comfort and power to spare.
We will give an update after a few more miles. So far I feel I made a good choice.

Outstanding Iron
By (I am an Owner) on May 19, 2010Bought 07 Yamaha RSTD July 2009 on eBay (stole it!). First purchased October 2008, had 1050 miles and over 4 years warranty remaining.
Weighs 500 lbs more than my 07 Honda Shadow 750, and what a Beast she is!
After 10 months riding in all weather for 9,000 miles all I have done is change ... oil/filter every 3000, balanced carbs once changed sparkplugs (week after purchase, one plug oily/black, ran 2 cans of Seafoam and run hard about 200 miles to clear out)and changed tires at 8,300 miles on origional brigestones (terrible tires - almost bald).
Install front and rear Avon Venom tires with front one size narrower than origional, made low speed handling like the bike lost 200 lbs!
Enjoy the tourque and comfort!

Nice, but Noisey
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 21, 2009I've had it for 1.5 yrs, and the things that are below avg. are , I feel poor MPG (39 mpg is the best I get)I can't believe that it still has carbs, Clutch wine/noise gets real old fast. It is smooth, powerful, but a looker, and for me not something I want to keep longer than a few years. Great warranty, ... so long as Yamaha says its "ok" I've heard of ugly stories from Maw Yamaha. I'm most likely going back to HD. Sorry.

Great bike for the price
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 25, 2008The 2007 RSTD is a outstanding cruiser/touring bike set up. Built around the almost bullet proof 1279 V-4 platform this bike performes great as both a larger sized cruise as well as a what is now commonly seen as a meduim displacementtouring machine. Having ridden the bike on a 1300 mile ride in ... three days I have nothing but great things to day about the bike. It is realiable, the retro styling is great, fit top notch. Some say it gets poor gas miliage but I have gotten between 37 up to 54 mpg in various riding configurations and conditions. Has plenty of power and the 5 year warranty is something one must be aware of.

Bang for the buck.
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 02, 2008This bike could possibly be the best bike on the market. I love this bike. It is a little heavy but the four cylinder nearly 100 horsepower engine helps. The quick release functions of the windshield and backrest makes the versitility of the Royal Star over the top. Everything else about this ... bike is great. The 5 year warranty speaks very loudly of Yamaha's faith in this bike.
