Super Cruiser

Great all around bike. Only dislike is clutch noise trapped by fairings. Bike handles about like GoldWing, which is saying a lot. It transitions like a 500lb bike and rides like the almost 900lb bike it is, should. Rear brake is very powerfull and easy to lock up if not careful on fast stops, partic...ularly in the wet. About as comfortable as a cruiser can be, great weather protection and cruise control. Reliability second to none, smooth clutch and trany. Quality,paint, fit and finish equal to many custom jobs.I have been riding for 55 years and have had more bikes than I can remember. Smooth

I looked at many bikes from wings to sport tours. While some performed better at their specialty none had the versility of a RSTD. Smooth fast and comfortable while still keeping that bad boy image. the tour deluxe to get most reliabity and power the facts are run mobile 1 full synthlic motor oil 10 w 40 install k&n air filters remove stock mufflers to lighted up install bassani harley davison reverse cone full mufflers install barron industry barrnett spring clutch system with your stock y...amaha fibers and clutch discs run non eththol gas if possible the tour deluxe has to be run high revs at all times to keep blowed out and to get the most power take off in 2nd gear when racing thats where barrnett clutch comes in always warm up when starting this infor is no bull its been tested and the bike can hang with the best of them the transmission has to be shifted correctly try it works I know first hand I have played with vulcan 2000 valkyie 1200 sporters I have alot of friends and we push the envelopes believe me almost forgot install dunlop 404 elite light weight rear tire happy cycling Read Full Review

Didn't Rumble

I bought a new 2000 Royal Star Tour Deluxe new for $12,000 back when I still couldn't justify $20,000+ for HD. Rode it for almost 5 years, never had to use the unlimited miles 5 year warranty. I finally stopped explaining when kids would say, "Nice Harley Mister" and just said thanks.

They stopped making them for a couple of years and I wanted to get a better rumbling exhaust sound. I finally broke down and spent $22,000 for a HD Road King with Screamin' Eagle exhaust. I just love that sound.
