Vmax is a sweet ride
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 11, 2021My 2005 Vmax has about 18k mi of riding in the Pacific Northwest since it was purchased in the fall of 2004. the 'max'
has been reliable and easily maintained.
The front fork seals were recently replaced and a steering stabilizer added, which has improved steering and handling tremendously- ... especially at higher speeds. The air shocks should be refitted with nitrogen or a better system for front suspension...
At 6' I'm a little tall for the bike but I love the responsiveness and it reminds me of the Japanese bikes I learned on as a kid. I much prefer it to the XLCH "iron head" AMF Harley I had in '74...
All in all I consider the Max to be a great bike, and wouldn't sell mine.

Where It All Began.
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Nov 16, 2010My Name is Mike ,I owned one of the first V-Max Yamaha Motorcycle, back in 1985. I bought it off the dealer floor . had the bike for only a short time. I had an injury at work and I had to have surgery on my back. I eventually sold my bike and regret having done so all the time.My Next bike will ... most certainly be a Yamaha V-Max.The V-Max is one of the most impressionable bikes I have ever ridden. The power of the motor is experienced with the slightest of movement of the throttle. That memory is still with me today. I would finish by saying You would only have to drive it once to be hooked.
