2003 Yamaha Vmax 1200
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 26, 2014I've owned a Suzuki 1993 RF600, a 2003 Yamaha R6, and a 1997 Suzuki Intruder 800. This Vmax is awesome. It has incredible power. The seat was very comfortable in my opinion. Also, my wife loves riding on back, with the backrest. I think the bike looks awesome. The handling and braking can't compete ... with sprotbikes, but after getting used to it, I can take corners at a good speed with decent confidence. I changed the 150 rear tire to a 170 Shinko. It helped with launching because it would ROAST the 150 Dunlop that was on there.

Squirely handling but the most fun I've had on two wheels...
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Sep 15, 2008The V-max is like getting a set of robotic arms. Picture your first time playing golf. You hit the ball and it flies bone straight for 520 yards! But be warned, because all that strength can hurt when your not paying attention. Why? Because the rest of you is still a mushy 30 something who ... doesn't work out.
The V-max has an engine that can scare you. The power is manageable but the chassis and barely adequate braking make the ride harrowing at the limits of this killer motor.
It sounds as though the new model may have solved these problems, although the new motor is even stronger.
700 yard drives anyone?
