I have been riding since I was 10 but, I've never been on anything with this kind of power.I'm a short guy (5'5")and thought getting my foot on the ground would be a problem.I set my suspention for 35mm sag at both ends and, while I can't flat foot its comfortable enough.once my feet are on the pegs, ...

This is my second motorcycle. My first one is just a kawasaki 150cc. I sold it right after i have keep enough money to buy yamaha r6.

From the looks, it will surely make other mid and super sportbike looks old and lame. Even B&w built their 1000cc machine look just like yamaha R6. check that ...

This bike will be fun to ride if you go fast. if you ride slow, the engine's heat will increase and the fan will blow the hot air right trough you thight. thats is unconfortable. Anyway, this happen to all big cc motorcycle. They are built to go fast.

This bike will go wild when you have reached 8000rpm and can accelerate until 170++mile. It has not end yet.

If you are considering in buying it. Just do it. you will not regrads it. Or the best are to ride them all and make your own comparison.

The 2009 R6 is by far my favorite bike. It is built for comfort and speed. all though it doesn't have much power in the bottom end, once it hits the power band around 10,000 RPM it instantly snaps to attention and roars with a high pitch scream that will dominate any opposers. Generally the power ...

The best feature that I have found is the new and much approved look. This bike screams speed and the huge intercooler tha is visibly shown behind the front tire shows that this bike is ment to be on a track.

I would suggest this bike to any enthusiast no matter if you are just a casual rider or an adrenaline junky like myself.

I recently upgraded from a KAWASAKI 250R. To this bad boy. Wow. Talk about a big leap in power, handling, and the need for speed. Just kidding i am not the racing type, especially on public roads. I driven the bike for 1 month now. I am very impressed. I am glad i rode the slower bike first, so you ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 29, 2010

I bought my first bike last summer and it was a Kawasaki Ninja 250, and it was an excellent bike for a beginner, but after I learned how to ride, and wanted to go faster than 110, I needed something with more power. A month ago I bought a Yamaha R6, and it is awesome. I love the control, the power, ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 09, 2010

The title says it all. I bought the R6 three days ago and absolutely love it. It dives into corners with ease, and is definitely not afraid to challenge any other bike on the street. If your an agressive rider like me you'll love it.

    I don't recomment it for a beginner unless they're ...

I'm still in the "breaking it in" phase and can feel every bit of power. As far as "lack of torque". Its a 600, if you want mass torque get the r1 with the new crossplane crankshaft. But as far as feeling the horses, this is more than enough bike for anyone that's not a professional track mongul.

I have owned many bikes from motocross to large cruisers. Just amazing the handling and power this machine has. Getting back on a monoshock also has it's advantages. I thought by design the ride would be uncomfortable but not at all for me but the passenger finds it a little different compared to ...

Although I have ridden many motorcycles (off-road and street legal)this is the first street legal motorcycle I have ever own. Everything from the performance to the handeling to the styling of this bike has me very impressed. The 2009 YZF-R6 is super quick with a very aggressive stance that just ...

Its my first sportbike ever and I have no problem riding it. It does lack some power in the lower rpm's but, when you get the engine moving you had better be holding on! Its a rocket. I'm 5'8" and comfort has not been an issue for me. I do alot of riding in town and have not had an issue with that ...

i'd have to say i agree about the lack of lower rpm power. it takes such a little time to get to 8000rpms when your really twisting the throttle. and once your there, its a rocket. in no possible way could you consider this bike slow. its light and easily thrown into turns. i havent done any mods ...

I really like the new 2009 R6, I am 6ft-5in tall and this bike is still comftorable, it also has the tallest seat of any 600cc at 34 inches tall. I also really like the look of it, and the turning is very responsive when riding. It is also nice that the 2009 R6 is for now the fastest 600 in production! ...

I sold my Honda 929RR Erion Racing Edition about a year ago and decided to buy another bike. I looked at the 600RR and the GSXRs but I really liked the R6. Handling is amazing! You can throw it into any turn with ease and the bike just takes it! I'm 6' tall and it's still fairly comfortable. ...

This is my second 600cc sportbike I have owned. I used to own a 2005 Honda CBR600RR and this new R6 is better in most aspects.

The only MAJOR diffenece I made to the bike was 1 tooth down in the front sprocket.

The bike out handles my former bike and with speed. I now ...

The only thing that the R6 lacks is the initial power, the low end torque.

After the power band reaches 8000 RPM to 9000 RPM the nike just comes alive.

I recommend this bike to everyone. The bike, in my opinion is even more comfortable than my CBR was. I can ride longer and harder on the R6 than I ever could on the CBR.
