Hammering down the road
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 08, 2018The 2010 Hammer 8-ball is a super cool bike. It has a great overall appearance and sleek design. The bike only comes as solid black in color and most of the bike accessories are blacked out also to include the handlebars, wheels, v-twin engine, and grips. The only thing that is chrome on the bike ... is the gauge and the headlight. The headlight is a simple halogen bulb, that could've been upgraded but the LED rear lights really set this bike off. The tailights shine bright when on and even brighter when the brake is applied, making this a key safety feature. The bike comes stock with Dunlop Elite 3 tires. The wide rear tire designed by Dunlop makes turns a little sluggish as this bike wants to ride upright at all times. I have since upgraded to a Metzger ME 880 260/40/18 rear tire and have noticed an incredible increase is maneuverability. The Hammer is quick off the line, and pounds the road with lots of getup and go. Top speed is not as fast as most will like but this bike rides solid at 80+ mph. Get ready for a thrill. If the bike comes with the turndown exhaust feature, get ready for some roar. It grumbles and lets all other vehicles know you are coming.

Hammer down
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 06, 2010The 2010 Victory Hammer 8-Ball is a fantastic bike. Like all Victories, it has the V-twin Freedom engine, a solid well-built unit. The Hammer 8-Ball comes with the 100 inch version with a 5 speed transmission. That means 1634 CCs with five speeds. When 70 mph in fifth at medium rpm is comfortable, ... who will really miss a sixth gear? Not me. Not you either, admit it. This model is basically blacked out, and painted black only. It has a traditional round headlight. It has very simple gauges and controls. It is plenty fast, has huge torque, looks like a miillion bucks, and grunts along smartly like a big gunboat, all things I really like. The seat is OK. After an hour you'll be adjusting, but it's no problem to do so. The bike is extremely stable - even a little resistant to turns at speeds less than 5 mph, maybe because of the ginormous wide rear tire. Deliberate action on the wide black bars moves her easily though. Handles beautifully at speed, like riding on rails. Vibration a low frequency rummble that most will find viscerally satisfying. On this bike you will experience lustful looks from people who are into bikes. It is less exepensive than most Victories because it does not have all the flash that other models have - it is a stealth candidate. For me, that made it the perfect choice. Take a test ride - Victory is cool about that. Recommended.
