2009 Vespa GTV 250

I've owned other scooters, and while all were fun, reliable, gas-misers, the GTV-250 is beyond compare. The retro styling is beautiful, and difficult to find in a 250cc scooter. It accelerates quickly, handles wonderfully, rides smoothly and comfortably, and is an absolute joy to ride. I did my ... research before purchasing, got an amazing deal from a new Vespa dealer, and never regretted spending the extra money for a fine Italian scooter. The free two-year warranty with road-side assistance has been a nice perk, but I've never had a problem with it. If you simply want cheap transportation, buy something else. If you want the best, then buy the GTV.

This scooter exudes class.Silky smooth, great acceleration, top speed of 80mph, excellent fuel economy,retro looks harking back to the early days of vespa with the front mudguard mounted headlight, italian leather hand stitched dual seat, electric seat opening, i love this scooter. If you want to ... travel distance then the big comfy seat ensures you get there without a sore butt. Ive had my one for just over a year and it is a joy to own and great fun to ride, my only gripe would be the digital clock/calendar which has a mind of its own. A lot of thought must have gone into this bike, the coolest thing of all though is that at night, when you flick high beam on it projects a beam of light shaped like a heart onto the road. I cannot recommend this scooter enough, buy one!!

Just passed the 750 mark and took it in for its first service. I love this scooter. Handles the highway with no problem and keeps up with city traffic NO PROBLEM. Compliments and stares are a common occurence on this scooter. handles great, ABS can get me from 60mph to a dead stop with no problem. ... great on gas and plenty of ways to haul groceries and other cargo.

As far as the hefty price tag, I knew I was paying extra for the chrome and vintage look and I am okay with that.

DO NOT BUY A GTV 250. From the first 2 weeks of ownership, mine has been stalling out incessantly. I have brought it in for service 3 times but it has still not been fixed. I bought it at Vespa SOHO and have gotten poor service. PIAGGIO USA has not been reliably returning calls. Opt for a more ... reliable company!
