Unbreakable engine, poor finish
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 03, 2013I owned one of these for three years from new. I also own some classic Triumphs.
The engine on this bike is brilliant and it is immensely fun to ride.
I reduced the number of teeth on the rear sprocket by 2 which meant that on longer runs, the bike was not spinning as fast at a steady ... 75.
I was very disappointed with the finish on the wheels and engine. The Chrome spokes and rims were a nightmare to keep on top of and if you look at examples in car parks, usually, the rims are rusty. The black on the engine is a paint that comes off after electrolytic corrosion has taken its toll under the loose surface.
On the wheels, the steel spokes into an aluminium hub would be fine if it was not for the fact that Triumph chose to laquer the hub. This leads to electrolytic tracking of corrosion between spokes. Again, look at then front wheel of examples found in car parks to see what I mean.
Overall, a fanatstic bike which is spoiled by cheapskate finish.

Love my T100!
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 26, 2013I bought my T100 after a 20 year break from riding. My last bike was a Yamaha 600. Enjoyable enough but it had no soul.
When I bought again, I knew I wanted a classic. Enter the T100.
As others have said, they are easy to ride. I'm 5'10" and it fits me perfectly. It ... has enough power to get you in trouble but not so much that you can't ride it hard. I've added a pair of soft panniers and a Dart windscreen for a bit of a break on highway jaunts.
Around town she is a dream, easy to flick around in traffic and the upright riding position helps drivers see you. On the highway, she is pleasant though if I were going to do extended freeway driving I would swap in a larger front drive sprocket to lower the engine rpms a bit. But it is really not a big deal either way.
I live in an area with fantastic roads. A couple of hours down a windy road on a Sunday morning always puts a smile on my face.

A reliable beauty
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 08, 2010I LOVE this bike. It's just a gorgeous machine. I ride it to work every day, and take it out on the highway every weekend, and she never disappoints.
There are plenty of aftermarket upgrades for this bike, and some are pretty much necessities, (replacing the stock mirrors comes to ... mind), but upgrading the bike is part of the fun.
I can't ride this thing anywhere without people commenting on how "nice", "pretty", and "sweet" it is. Best of all, it's affordable and reliable. No oil leaks. Starts right up every morning, even in cold weather. (with the help of the 'fast idle' knob) You won't win any races on this thing, but when you show up smiling everyone will think you won anyway.

The Bonnie Delivers!
By (I am an Owner) on May 04, 2009Great performance, good looks, and a ton of fun to ride. The 2009 Bonneville T100 is everything you could want in a modern classic.
Well mannered and responsive the ride characteristics are solid and precise. A twist of the throttle delivers a very satisfying boost of power.

The construction fit and finish are quality through and through. This is a very well made machine that exhibits all the soul and cool of its honored lineage!
