2007 speed triple rocks!
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 23, 2010I have had this bike now for about 2 months. I love the thing! I have had a few ducati monsters and a HD in the past. The only thing that I miss is the roar of the twin from my ducati. The Speed triple has more power but doesn't sound so great to me. Easy bike to ride hard and easy in the city.... ... Fantastic

2007 Speed Triple
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 04, 2008Very poor initial quality. I did a lot of research before buying this bike and determined that that reliability was finally acceptable. Not so with this one. It was in and out of the shop for several months. Problems found were a bad chasis ground. Then a bad main fuse connection. When the ... weather cooled off in the fall (I bought the bike in July '07), it would not start on the first push of the starter. The dealer had it for two months until (after repeated communication with Triumph), they replaced the MAF and crank position sensor. During the first service, they found that the coolant was mostly water. The dealer always gave me a loaner while my S3 was in the shop and treated me very well; they even dropped-off a loaner when picking-up my bike at work when it was running too poorly to ride in.
I have not have had any problems since the fall of '07 and love the bike; what a beast! Low CG makes track stands at stop lights remarkably easy. Torque is phenomal (accidental wheelies when new!). The balance and fit of this bike are perfect for my riding style. Most of my friends have cruiser bikes and long rides (300 to 400 miles) are fine with several breaks during the day. I am just not ready for loud, heavy and slow!

Never end a ride without a grin
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 26, 2008This bike performs flawlessly. Suspension is a little stiff for some, and the seat could have a little more room to move. Engine has the best power delivery of anything I have ever ridden, even my father who has been riding for 35+ years and ridden hundreds (goes to Americade every year) of bikes ... and has 5 currently in his garage (DL100, FJR1300 and a few classics), says that this is one of the best engines ever designed for bike. I've been able to pull away from busa's in high speed turns due to the nimbleness of the bike. Just an all out fun bike that doesn't kill you if you try and take it for a few hundred miles. I average about 75 miles a day on the bike and never sore, but always feel better after a day of work.

Wheeee
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 24, 2008This is still the finest bike that I have ever ridden. The engine is definitely the center piece of the package. Really a true cross between a V-twin and an inline-4. Pulls like a freight train from about 2,000 RPM and will run into the red line not letting up at all. A wheelie monster if you ... are not careful in the first two gears.
On the other side the brakes are very confidence inducing. Great initial bite and very strong stopping power that will have you doing stoppies if you are not careful. I have yet to see them fade.
Suspension is adjustable and good for the price point of the bike. I highly advise having a professional adjust your suspension. It did wonders for me.
Two things I don't like, abrupt throttle response and no helmet lock. Not even a hook under the seat.
All in all, this bike is staying with me for long as it can be kept running and only thing I really regret is not getting it sooner.

Bad real bad
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 19, 2008Where do you start, hows the engine. Smooth through the entire RPM range. Gobs and gobs of power all the way through. Gear box seems a bit "clunky" but gets better after a few thousand miles. Brakes are great, if flipping the bike over the front tire is your deal, these brakes will work just fine. ... Riding position is comfortable but still sporty. All in all this bike is a never ending grin machine that begs you to let your inner hooligan out.
