My A2 Scrambler review
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 08, 2013I bought a Triumph (not a Jeep). At first I thought it was a bad decision. Then just by riding and trying a few things like adjusting the rear suspension and tyre pressures it came to life as a reasonable road tourer. Off road, forget it for serious stuff but will handle dirt/gravel roads with some ... effort put in to manage the weight. It is a 'Poser' machine, it was built with this in mind from what I've gathered from several sources, but I have to agree with them that it is a fun retro bike, it's power goes from 2,500 rpm to, well whenever you feel like changing gear and it still takes off in the higher gear. The front tyre does squirm a bit when pushed, but when you learn to handle this, the bike does turn into a real charmer. Just about everywhere I go I get looks and comments on how good the bike looks, mainly from older males, but still gets comments from young and female. Overall, now that I've had the Scrambler for two years (Nov 2011 purchase of 2012 model)it has become a thoroughly enjoyable bike to ride and listen to with the Arrow exhaust fitted and baffle removed (until caught by you know who). The only drawback that does annoy though is the cough it sometimes gives when taking off at traffic lights etc, the thing to learn here is to put a bit of revs on before releasing the clutch and don't use a quick action on the throttle. In summary, it is a 'poser' machine but I wouldn't swap it for anything else now as it is fun to ride and a great looking classic style motorcycle.
