Sport Cruiser
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 13, 2015The Triumph Thunderbird is a powerful sport cruiser that has a true sport side. The bike has power through the entire gear train with no lack of pull. It handles corners like no other cruiser, pushing through asking for more. Great bike, fun ride....In 9000 miles the only thing the bike has needed ... is tires, oil and brakes...I have done some custom work to the bike as well

An amazing bike-I love it
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 02, 2010I'm a nearly 6 decade old rider that would rather be on a sport touring bike like a Honda ST 1300 or Concours Kawa 1400-I have ridden them both and OMG are they nice. However the reality of the sea height and a hip replacement have sent me scurrying to cruiser land. I had been testing them all HD, ... Nomad etc. At the insistence of the dealer I went on the Triumph Bonneville and Bonnieville America-nice but too small. After one ride and some amazing 2.9% loan deals I'm the owner of an ABS 1600 Bird. The bike is perfect for me. And that is the point of my review. It works for me. You have to figure out if the bike is a right fit for you ergonomically and otherwise. It's smooth, powerful, frugal on fuel and looks great. I don't give a RAT's asp about image or sound but I LOVE TO RIDE-and this is a rider's bike. Not something that should be shined and showed but packed and ridden. I just did 250 miles Sunday and could have done 250 more. It's a comfortable and nimble as any BMW I have owned and it's a hell of a low lower. For an older rider its a great choice.

Fantastic
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 16, 2010I have been off bikes for about 18 years when the bug bit again. I was looking at the Harley Wide Glide but dropped into a multi-brand dealer to comparison shop. I spotted the T-Bird and never thought about the Wide Glide since. I have tried the Harley since then. The T-Bird outperforms and outhandles ... the Wide Glide. This bike will surprise many from stoplight to stoplight. Twisties will leave a smile n your face. Even though the T-Bird is heavier, it seems easier than the Wide-Glide to manoeuver around a parking lot. The sitting position is perfect for me. The feet are a little forward but not as much as the competition. All in all, a fantastic bike. The self-canceling turn signals work great. The ABS system is a lifesaver. More experienced riders might not need it though.

Thunderbird SE
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 04, 2010I bought the SE in April of 2010. I love this bike. The protection from the tall windsheild is great. The power is great and I loved riding it on the Blueridge parkway. I hated to have to go home.

Can a cruiser be any better?
By (I am an Owner) on May 23, 2010I bought the SE a month ago and I have been riding it, every day, since. The ride is smooth beyond belief and truly inspires confidence at high speeds. What is particularly wonderful is how well the bike handles around corners- this is not a cruiser built to "run on a straight line". It is a cruiser ... for all roads. Triumph has claimed its' stake in the American cruiser market with this marvelous bike. I love it.
Go YOUR own way! Go Triumph!

Amazing Bike !
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Feb 04, 2010Picked up my new T-Bird last July. It is the first cruiser I have ever owned after riding sport touring bikes for over 30 years. After getting used to the forward pegs, the bike was pure Heaven to ride. Smooth, tremendous torque, great handling, and 50 mpg cruising at 70mph in 6th gear !!
Way ... to go Triumph--The new T-Bird is a winner.
