2011 Burgman same as 2009 Burgman. Didn't make a 2010 bike

I purchased my 650 Executive Burgman (white) in May 2009. I've rode the bike 8K miles on mostly paved and curvy type roads in Northeastern CT.



I cannot say enough how much I've enjoyed this bike. It has plenty of power for open road riding. Super acceleration for passing whatever in plain D mode.... If your press the "power" button, for hard fast acceleration, it boosts the engine RPM and the bike turns into a virtual leer jet. Corners beautifully. Is immune to side winds. Steers straight as an arrow. Has enough bulk to feel real solid under your torso. This bike will turn on a dime, which I find useful

The bikes computerized digital display is super and covers everything from trip miles to the outside weather temp. It has two trip mile keepers: A and B.

The auto tranny goes "well" automatically, but you can shift manually as well using a button.

A real neat feature is when slowing down to a stop sign (around say 35 mph), you can let go of the accelerator completely and the onboard computer slows the bike down to final braking smoothly and no lurching. Very cool!

There is also an aftermarket available kit to conver this bike into a trike should you wish to do this.

I did install a new Windscreen and I attached two photos to show you. One of the original wind screen and one of my new one. I'm 6'2 inches tall and the new screen is super.

I have enjoyed this bike more than words can say. It's been the pleasure machine of my life. And I have no problem whatsoever keeping up with big cruisers and sport bikes.

wind buffetting

This is a great ride once you get used to the rear brake lever not being a clutch lever. The downfall of this scooter is the wind buffeting is horrible even at fairly low speeds [45 mph and up. Every review I've seen has a replacement windshield installed for a calm ride. Read Full Review

Great ride

I have owned a lot of scooters and this is by far the best. The luxury scooter of scooters. So far have had no complaints and enjoy the ride. I am 6'1" and at 250lbs the ride is great. Read Full Review

It's like half a car.

I will quickly convey that at 67 years old and a former motorcycle dealer there are only a few I haven't ridden and many that I've owned; motorcycles and scooters. I still own my 7th Honda Helix. I've had my 650 Executive Burgman for nearly a year. I bought it as a leftover 2011 and got a great deal... with 0% financing for 5 years. The scoot is drop dead gorgeous. I added a Laminar Lip, (a small extension to the windshield), which makes a great windshield better. I carry removable luggage as required on the rear seat and hanging from the sissy bar, leaner pad. The comfort of the scooter is almost as good as the lounge chair styled Helix. I prefer the lower seat on the Helix. The Burgman is more comfortable than the Honda Silverwing scooter that I owned in '03. Power is very similar to the Silverwing. Overall I like the Burgman very much and more the longer I own it. BUT, that's a very big but, but I do not like the engine braking on the Suzuki. Leaned into a slow speed turn and WHAM, a downshift which slows the scoot down and quickly makes the lean angle I'm riding too severe and makes a quick adjustment imperative. First Burg 650 totalled in CO after 18,000 learning miles. On new '11 Burg 650 just completed 4500 miles Houston to Sherman Oaks, CA and back. Can't say enough about the Burg as a good to great tourer. Comfortable, dependable, as fast as you want and on the whole trip I averaged 39 mpg running 80... to 85 on I-10. From Blythe to Tonopah I ran 90 plus and owned the road. Longest day 650 miles in high crosswind. Did Mullholland, Angles Crest and PCH in LA and US 191/180 in AZ for some real twisties. Bike performed as I expected - great no mechanical problems (but I did have it checked due to some bad road hits). I have a Corbin seat with extra pad, extra large windshield and a Throttlemeister cruise control. The only negative is the rpm driven engine and tranny can't pull a camper trailer. SCOOTERS RULE.
