Great all around bike
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 03, 2016I own five bikes and since I bought this 2017 SV 650 I have logged more miles on it than all the others combined. It does just about everything right. It's nice and sporty to ride around town with ample low end torque and it revs easy moving up to highway speeds with smooth power and almost no ... vibration. It's a great value for the money but don't expect any price break from the dealer. Suzuki cut corners on a few bits, the brakes are powerful but lack feel, the gearbox shifts well but you can feel some flex in the pressed steel shifter. Overall build quality is very high and the styling is spot on. Suzuki from time to time really makes some peculiar looking bikes and then about once every ten years or so they get it just right and this is that bike. It reinvents the naked/monster style and makes it available to the masses in an affordable and reliable package. Mu only complaint is the seat. In order to get a low seat height, the seat slants downward at a steep angle. It forces you against the tank. Fine if you are under 5'7" or so. Taller riders might feel a little cramped. Hopefully the tall seat will be available soon to solve this very small issue.
