i love this bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 15, 2009As a first bike being the gixxer 600 20th anniversary, i think it handles respectfully well and has alot of torque. The power it dismounts is uncontrolable and it feels like its about to take off and fly. I recently added a 47 tooth srocket to the rear and a 15 tooth sprocket to the front. It launches ... like a beast and wants to come up everytime you give it gas.

A great bike
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 21, 2008Performance: Its amazing what they have done with 600cc over the past 10 years. This bike, has a lot of power for its displacement. The bike handles well in all aspects. The bike, has a sensation of wanting to dive deep into corners, and you still maintain a good feeling of confidence in the ... bike, at full lean. A+
Quality: This is where it doesn't score as high. The welds are a little messier than other brands, and seats aren't that well done. Also one thing that bugged me, was the tank does not fit flush to the frame, there is a whole, that you can literally stick your fingers between the tank and the frame. I have to give Quality a B-.
Reliability: I owned this bike for 3 years, and the only issue I ever had with it was a bad cam tensioner (sp). The bike is a bit pricer in the maintenance dept, keep that in mind if you are looking for any sport bike though. I never worried if I was going to make it home or not, this bike felt very reliable. A
Ride & Comfort: Remember this is a sport bike, not a touring bike. The ergos are good for what its meant to do: race. Long trips are that bad, however, after about 3 hours on the bike, your legs are really going to start feeling it. However, I feel it is the most comfortable seat I have ever sat on with an '05 bike. B
Value: This is where suzuki for a while has always had an edge. Suzuki gives you the Rear Seat Cowl, and it also was the only bike at the time that had a steering dampner that came with it. Also even though its not the cleanest assembled bike, this bike just breathes fun into anyone that rides it at every corner. A+
