  • GSXR1000 K4. Worthwhile mods.
By  (I am an Owner) on May 16, 2015

    I bought my K4 new in 2004.

My 1st mod was to fit a Brembo 19/20 front master cylinder and Goodridge lines. This was a big improvement on standard. EBC HH pads.

2nd mod. Had forks revalved and springs fitted to suite my weight, plus a decent after market shock from Maxton and dropped ...

3rd mod - Fitted a Hyperpro RSC steering damper, again a vast improvement on standard.

4th - mod. Fitted a pair of Pirelli Rosso corsa tyres, with 55 rear profile. Turns much quicker now.

5th mod - Fitted USB power commander, K&N air filter, Yoshi RS3 can, Iridium plugs, Castrol Power 1 Racing fully synthetic oil.

Have changed the front sprocket to 1 tooth up on standard and one tooth down on the rear sprocket. I fitted a speedo healer to sort out the difference to gearing. Last but not least I fitted a GIPRO tre.

All these mods work well together and have improved the K4 a great deal, and was well worth the expense over guying a new bike. It is tailored to suite me and was well worth the expense.

Last thing was to fit shorty levers.

It looks bog standard, but the ride is easy on bends and excellent on distance.

Well worth considering if on a budget, as the new bike prices are getting pretty high now.

I'll be hanging on to mine for quite a while, it's more than quick enough.

  • Love this bike
By  (I am an Owner) on Jun 16, 2012

I received this bike as a wedding present in '04, and to this day, it makes me smile everytime I ride it, which is alot. Even stock, the bike has plenty of power, smooth as silk, and likes to be ridden hard. Take care of this machine, and it will make you happy for years to come. I've rode many different ...

suzuki is well known for having bikes that you can just get on and feel comfortable bringing up some massive speed...this year is the best though in my opinion, due to the next year frames failing due to a cast structure, i have beat every bike ive had so far. this one just wont seem to give up....

  • the best ever
By  (I am an Owner) on Mar 31, 2010

I recently checked into buying a new bike. I test rode a BMW S100RR. I took it on a 35 mile run through great curves, then promptly decided to stay with my 2004 GSXR1000. I love the size and look. It feels a little heavy in the corners, but going to a slightly narrower tire and slipper clutch takes ...

this is a great bike and would really recommend it but it is not for beginners. everything you read a bout the power is true. it just keeps on pulling hard. the handling is a little heavy but that's a liter bike. you can still throw it through the corners it just takes a little more effort than a ...
