  • Not a bad bike. Corner is not confidence inspiring. There are better starter bikes
    By  () on Mar 03, 2020

I rode a friends s40 a few times. It was a nice simple bike that is easy to figure out. I have ridden lots of bikes, cruisers, sport bikes, dual sports, you name it... but this had the worst handling/corner of any bike I(TM)ve ever ridden. I always wondered why I would have to slow down so much after ...

For a beginner bike I(TM)d rather start on something else

  • Squeaking noise
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 09, 2010

I noticed the squeak at about 3000 kms have still got it drives me crazy to. I have been trying to figure it out. On my last long ride 270 kms it stopped but started again on the next ride. usually only on acceleration over 30 kms per hour.

  • Great starter bike..
By  (I am an Owner) on Jun 07, 2010

I bought my Suzuki S40 last season. It is a great bike for starting out. I find that I am a bit too tall for this bike (5'6") and need to move up to a bit bigger bike and more powerful engine. This bike handles well and is certainly made more for a woman. It is a lighter cruiser (352 pounds dry) ...

  • Great Bike for short women!!!!
By  (I am an Owner) on Jul 08, 2009

I am only 4'10". I looked all over for a bike I can not only touch the ground but also hold up. I thought I was limited to the Honda Rebel 250cc and the Kawasaki Eliminator 150cc. The instructor from my motorclycle saftey course suggested I try the s40. I fell in love instantly!!!. It meets all my ...

Excellent bike for women!!!!!! I will never feel the need for an upgrade!!!

  • Squeaky exhaust...
By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 10, 2009

I bought my S40 about a year ago and didn't notice a squeaking until a few weeks later. So far I have not been able to figure out the problem. The dealer said thats the way it is suppossed to sound due to crappy riveting of the exhaust..... but I think he is yanking my chain. I love the bike but ...

  • Awesome!
By  (I am an Owner) on Mar 07, 2009

Bought this bike a year ago, and have put over 3,000 miles on it with zero problems. And for those of you who think it's too small, I'm 5' 11", 200 lbs, and it handles the freeway, and the hills, just fine! As an added bonus, because of the simplicity of the bike, I won't have any problems when ...

  • Great Ride
By  (I am an Owner) on Feb 10, 2009

I chose this bike because I am short- 5'2". It's a very good fit. The seat could be more comforable- but that's the only improvement I can suggest. I commute in NYC, am on the highway & in the city. The bike just works- it's got the power for the highway & spriteness & manuverability for city streets. ...

  • Boulevard of Broken dreams
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 24, 2008

When you first look upon the s40 you notice its size. It is a smaller bike then most, you might think it is a downfall but no its a nimble creature and still has plenty of power for the normal rider. Alot of people own them as first bikes and 50% being women. You can put a mean exhaust and make some ...

  • Great little thumper!
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 04, 2008

This bike is exactly as one would expect of a big single. It has good torque and is quite comfortable around town and for short trips on the expressway. Great mileage and only a minor vibration from the well counterbalanced engine. Outside of the occasional backfire, it is quiet, too. The light weight ...
