5K miles working out the bugs
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 08, 2009Pros: Alot of bike for the money and the weight, a real head turner! Saddle bags are roomy, ergo's are good for my 5'8" frame. Now that I have the bugs worked out its dead-on reliable, I've spent some LONG days in the saddle and it's been pretty comfortable. Center stand is easy to use. Craftsmanship ... is obvious. You never see yourself (I rode a few weeks ago and 3 of 4 guys had Road Kings!)
Cons: Saddle still not greatest shape and the windscreen is about 2 inches too short. Cold blooded and takes awhile to warm up. Alternator a little weak--extended slow speed/rpm riding drains the battery if you run the aux lights or heated gear so carry jumper cables. Make sure the dealership does the in-tank fuel-line swap recall before you take delivery (the euro-spec hose isn't resistant to ethanol but there's a fix kit) THERE'S NO AFTERMARKET SUPPORT!
Overall though--I love the bike! despite some quirks and minor teething issues.
