Fun
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 01, 2009This is one fun bike. Moved from a 2002 BMW R1150RT to this. That was more of a touring as opposed to sport bike. This is more of a sport as opposed to a touring. Major complaints after 30K miles. 1) Oil dipstick - what a PAI! Major design flaw!!! Cludge workarounds available! For someone ... who does long days and has "Check oil in morning" at top of list, this is painful. Cludge fixes do not help with oil changes. 2) Seat. No room to move. No where to put feet other than on original pegs and they do get tiring after a 800 600 - 800 mile day. 3) Envious looks. So may envious looks, lots of time spent talking about it at stops. Can be a real hassle when you are trying to get somewhere. Very good for the ego.
Besides the little annoyances, I love it! The motorcycle journalists missed the oil problem - gee go figure, maybe if they were like ordinary motorcyclists they would have fond this problem. They also nitpicked over the luggage - whined about the two catches to lock the lids. The latches do what they are designed to do - keep the lids closed and keep your clothes dry. Will probably move on to something else in the future, but hope to keep it in my stable when I want to go out for a fun ride. I am really glad I didn't read the reviews prior to buying. Would have missed out on a fun ride. But it does provide me with the knowledge that these "knowledgeable journalists" appear to be pampered riders who really don't understand what everyday riders experience.

Does What I Want...and More
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 03, 2008I keep trying to find something wrong with my Norge...and I really can't. Oh, it's be nice to have the ability to add Aprilia handguards like I did on my 2006 Breva 1100...or, maybe, it'd be nice to have a quieter windshield. But this bike does everything, from carving the Dragon to eating up miles ... on the highway. It's best at sweepers and twisties, and that's my favorite kind of road.
I rented an FJR in February, rode it for 460 miles in a weekend, and just decided to buy the Norge instead. That good.

I drove a Concours and Switched to the Moto Norge
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 19, 2008I have been a Concours fan for years, Still have one 1994. Just got the bike 2 days ago 2007, paid 14,300 out the door. I love the ride, when a truck passes on two lane road in the opposite direction the bike is stable as bed rock in a river. I was coming back from Sedona on Interstate 17, had my ... wife on the back and I walked away from those Harley drivers with their women on the back, We did the twisty from Prescott to Jerome with ease and style. The exhaust sound is music to the ears. At 75 there is no vibration just a smooth, kick butt ride. I do think it needs a new seat but other than that, damn I a happy camper

Norge
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 08, 2008Great sport touring bike. Very good handling, adequate power for two, comfortable seating. Controls logical. Brakes front and rear are excellent. ABS works well and can be turned off.
Dry clutch noisy at idle but work well. Smooth and accurate shifting. Solid bike with no real vises. ...
