Great Scoot!
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 10, 2009I started searching for a scooter after gas prices shot through the roof in 2008. After months of research, I decided on the Kymco People 150 because of its reputation, reliability, and style. I use it for a 20 mile daily commute to work. The scoot cruises with no sweat at over 60MPH and I am a 5'10" ... 185 pound guy. The larger tires absorb road shock really well and it handles like a champ. I only wish it had more aftermarket parts to customize it a bit, but that may come as this gem gains some attention. At 70 miles per gallon, how can you go wrong?

Great basic transportation
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 09, 2008I bought my Kymco People 150 in April of 2008, mostly to reduce my use of expensive and polluting fuel. It has exceeded my expectations in every way.
I live in rural Vermont, and use my scooter almost every day. My longer rides are to meetings in nearby towns and for shopping trips ... up to 80 miles total. I live on a dirt road, with a fairly steep climb to my house. I have ridden 1500 miles so far this year, sometimes in wet and cold weather. I should mention that I weigh 190 pounds.
My Kymco has started and run reliably, with no mechanical problems. The ride is comfortable, even on rough road surfaces, and remarkably stable because of the 16 inch wheels. Acceleration is more than adequate, hill climbing ability is no problem even on steep hilly roads. I typically ride on 50 MPH roads and have no trouble keeping up with traffic. Braking is adequate. Fuel economy is excellent, averaging 90 mpg. I have done my own oil and transmission fluid changes, which are quick and easy.
I installed my own windshield and rear carrier, which gave me the chance to disassemble part of the bike. I was impressed with the quality of the construction and materials used.
So far, no chance to check out the warranty or parts availability.
I highly recommend this bike.
