The Decathlete of bikes

I sold a Super Tenere and a DRZ400, replacing them with one bike: the KTM 690 Enduro R. This was the best purchase I have ever made (apart from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4!). This bike is insanely fast out-of-the-box and needs hardly any farkling to hit the trails hard. Stick an Airhawk cushion on the ...as-torture seat and you have a very cruise-able dual sport which is capable of comfortably cruising at 85mph, or blowing off traffic at 100mph when necessary. At 315 pounds, she is lighter than my DRZ, yet just as capable on the freeway as the Yamaha Super Tenere. She's a beast and has other riders constantly lusting over her each time we stop for air on long trail rides. Buy this bike and you'll understand why it's so damned expensive. Walk the walk, not talk the talk.

This bike can walk the walk. Not just talk the talk. The KTM 690 Enduro R is THE true on/off road bike, if you actually plan to go off-road. You do give up a little pavement performance, but gain that back 10x in off-road performance.



On a side not, I don't see how the R1200GS is the #1 on/off... road bike. That's like saying a dump truck is the best pickup truck. And, don't take that as bashing it, I like that bike a lot. I just wouldn't depend on it getting me through much off-road. Read Full Review
