!Warning! Avoid Kawasaki Motorcycles!!
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 08, 2010Bought a brand new 2009 leftover ZX10. First oil change at 600 miles, changed oil and filter, start bike up, "low pressure oil" warning light blinking for 3 minutes! Called several dealers, turns out ZX6's are prone, ZX10's, Vulcans all have same issue. Was told to burp bike by loosening oil filter ... and starting until oil spits out. Called Kawasaki Consumer Support, they were callous, unsympathetic, rude, and unprofessional. My 08 CBR600 and 08 CBR1000RR never lost their oil prime, never had to fill oil filter. Kawasaki makes fast bikes but poor design ends up with owners doing more damage to motor with every oil change. I done everything Kawasaki dealers told me to, saturate oil filter with oil, squirt oil down metal threads, and started bike up with filter loose, low oil pressure warning light still comes on but still takes 10 to 20 seconds. Again all the other bikes oil pressure went off in a split second.
