  • Best looking bike
By  (I am an Owner) on Jul 23, 2010

I've never owned a sportbike before, now I finally know what crotchrocket means: Hold ON...

So far, I love it for the speed and acceleration. Kawasakis are awesome bikes to rip on; adequately responsive to throttle twist as well as braking.

But unfortunately, as with any sportbike ...

My only real gripe so far, is that Kawasaki's patented positive neutral finder feature could be a flawed mechanical feature. In the past week or so I've had the bike's shifter become unresponsive. It didn't want to shift down into lower gears when I pressed down on it while slowing for a STOP. I had to keep the clutch in until I could feel the shifter pop down into first gear. It took me about two tries. **And I know I was not in first gear because after the second push down it finally dropped into 1st.

Upon closer inspection I did notice that the shifter was kind of loose. It was moving laterally about 2-3mm. I hadn't noticed it before.

Yes this bike is used, but it only has 1000 miles on it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn't lead to unrepairable damage.

I don't know why I bought a crotch rocket! I know that these performance bikes are made for wear and tear. I'm a bit disappointed in my hopes of seeing this bike have a relatively reliable life span.

  • What's not to like?
By  (I am an Owner) on Feb 22, 2010

I fell for this bike at first sight. Looked at all the other 600 s.s. & liked the fit for me/feel of the zx6. It was advertised as a track bike & if you want a relaxed posture & softer suspension & seat; look at the Ninja 650 or similar as you won't like this bike.

    Performance is ...

Had a bad valve cover gasket, but kawasaki fixes w/o charge. Great fit with plastics, graphics, etc. No real problems to report after 7k miles....

Ride is stiff but contact patch is well maintained on asphalt... I think this is what you want on a sport bike. Keep your wrists flat & you'll be rewarded with performance... Ride it with dirt bike posture & you'll be hurting.

One of the lowest MSRP's of the 07-08 years. Has a slipper clutch.

5 stars all around in my eyes.

  • Coulda been better
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 24, 2008

Well, where to start? The look of the bike is what caught my eyes. Unfortunately, looks don't make up for everything and to bad the dealership won't let you ride before you buy. The rider seat is super stiff, really uncomfortable for longer rides. Suspension is really stiff out the box aswell which ...

  • Awesome!
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 22, 2008

I love my bike. There is no other like it! Wouldn't trade it for anything. The handling is the best, by far, of any 600's that I have riden.

  • MURDERED OUT 2007 ZIXXER
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 22, 2008

I picked up my 07 zx6r the week of Christmas 2007 as a leftover for $7999.

Pros: I've been extremely happy with it. It shifts effortlessly (slipper clutch :) ), it pulls hard in the high rpms(10,000 and up), handles like a dream, and stops on a dime...

The only things i have changed ...

Cons: I don't suggest buying this bike if you intend on riding with someone on the back, its a race bike!!! Very little low end torque because of tall gearing (i've done 86 in first gear), but this can be easily cured for $30.00 going -1 on the front sprocket! And my personal opinion is that the factory rearsets suck.. Buy some rearset raisers! All in all I would suggest buying this bike. This bike does hold up against any and all competition!
