636 again
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 23, 2015My first bike was a 636 scared the confidence out of me, so I got rid of it and purchased a 650. Instant regret huge mistake. Just bought a 2006 636 feel at home again. Never going to let it go.

First bike
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 01, 2012I got this as my first bike in the middle of winter because I finally got my license and there was a great deal on one. Before buying the 636, I test drove an '04 R6 and it was nowhere near as good. I've put about 400 miles on it so far and it is doing amazing.

Epic Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 01, 2010I found a review in a sportbike mag that suggested buying this bike used, it has been fantastic. The seat is comfortable i could ride for hours, the engine is beefy and smooth, it will make you respect it which i like. Its so fun i even go on rides when its freezing outside, just gotta make sure ... you warm those tires up first!

My favorite by far!
By (I am an Owner) on May 01, 2009Had this bike for a little over a year now.. Came from a GSX-R 600... Better in the turns, more comfortable seat, better throttle response, smoother ride, 10X sexier! lol
Love this bike more than anything! Made me a Kawasaki rider for life.. Used to love Suzuki, been on GSX-R 750 and 1K and ... I still love it more.. Go get one... or two? .. you won't be disappointed.

wow....
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 15, 2008I just got an 2006 636 as my first bike. It's lowered, has an Andrews Race cam, full race fairings, Tokico calipers and rotors front and rear, and a smaller rear sproket. I just went for my first ride today and OMG was that the best thing ever. I can't wait to go out and ride more and more. The only ... thing I ever rode before today was a pocket rocket (don't laugh, they're fun), and a late 70's trail bike with maybe a 100cc motor. I had a friend who's been riding for about 4 years with me today and he said, I was the best first time rider he's ever seen. I guess it's natural, haha. Oh...I got it for $1300 because it was layed down on both sides and broke the rear brake lever and has no title. Lucky me.

The perfect sportsbike
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 05, 2008I own this bike now for the third year. Except for a small lowside on the racetrack I've never had any problems. Well, the battery runs empty in the winter if you don't unplug it.
Apart from this it's really reliable and astonishing fuel economic, even going at a faster pace. Oil choice ... is crucial, but it is with any high-revving bike.
Since I live in germany I often ride at speeds in excess of 100mph and found this bike to be pretty stable yet responsive. However it's not as comfortable (and stable) as a, say, ZZR-1200. I've had only very rare occasions where I wanted to have more power, or, to be more specific, more torque.
Therefore I've ridden a ZX-10R for a day for comparison and found it, well, a blast- but less challenging to ride.
The ZX-6R is a fun bike, compared to the ZX-10R. However, it's still hard work to ride it, unlike some smaller capacity or more ergonomic bikes. Riding it aggressively is difficult and exhausting.
I wouldn't recommend it as a commuter bike (it's not good for the engine anyway to run for short distances), I cannot recommend it as a plaything- it's too dangerous if you don't put a lot of time and effort in, as is every supersport bike. It'd be the perfect trackbike if it wasn't for the odd 636ccm which renders it useless for most competetions. Yet who wants to beat this baby on a track- get a cheap track bike for this, preferably a Honda ;)
If you're up to it and like it this way I absolutely recommend this bike. I will keep mine forever, although I'm looking for a fun bike right now, maybe a supermoto which is good for commuting as well. But it's simply a joy to ride, it's reliable, it's fuel economic (can't say this for other costs, tires e.g. cost a fortune), it can do anything you want it to do- I wouldn't want to ride anything else most of the times. I even use it for my holidays, travelling 600km+ a day on backroads is what this baby was built for. Well, a ZZR-1200 could do that too, but I like it a bit more sportive.
Two-up riding is possible but uncomfortable- for both. I guess that's the fate of the pillion seat. A bank is way more convenient.

Nice Bike
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Oct 29, 2008I really enjoyed this bike. I have a friend who owned this bike and really enjoyed it as well. My only complaint would be the hard seat which is typical for Kawasaki products.

The ZX-6R Rocks!!!
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 18, 2008I got my ZX-6R back in April of '06 and still love riding it every chance I get. The bike has been so reliable and still handles amazingly. I have the limited edition that was available back in '06, and almost every trip out and about someone is ofering to buy it!! If you get the chance to buy ... one, or at least ride on, I highly recommend it.

Awesome bike
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 07, 2008Ive had a zx6r for over a year now and i wouldnt trade it for any other bike. Its relatively comfortable for a super-sport and its so fast and maneuvarable. More mid range torque than any other bike in its class makes it feel so much more powerful. It has also been a very reliable machine. The only ... thing ive done is change the oil, lube the chain, and put in gas. Ive ridden the other supersport bikes in the zx6r's class and it is by far the superior machine.

The perfect bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 25, 2008I've had several bike in the last 20 years, but this bike is perfect for all I need and want from a sport bike. I was going to buy the ZX10R but that bike will KILL me the way I drive. Overall the bike offers all great things without to much or to little, but the Qualty is not the best. I rate it ... a 9.5 out of 10.

636'n
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 18, 2008my 2006 zx6r was my first motorcycle. I bought it used from a dealership and instantly fell in love with it. It is quick, fuel efficient and attractive. The only thing that I wanted to change was that sissy stock muffler because I actually wanted to hear my bike, but if you like quiet than you definitely ... had a winner with that stock muffler.
