It's an Iron Horse.
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 28, 2013I hadn't ridden for about 30 years (Honda 750) and at my age of 67 thought I better start with something lighter for a year or so. % years later I am still riding my Vulcan 900 Classic LT and can't see any reason to spend a lot of money to upsize. The original seat was terrible so I spent a couple ... hundred to have it cut out and some gel inserted and put a gel, sheepskin on top. That made it a 100 mile seat. A couple years ago when Kawasaki came ouit with the new gel seat I bought one and now with that and the sheepskin I came easily ride 300 miles and have ridden up to 540 miles a day. I ride with American Legion Riders and Patriot Guard riders and other friends with Harleys and bigger road bikes and most of them can't keep up with me. The bike is tough (tougher than me) I was rear-ended 2 years ago at about 45MPH and knocked down. I suffered a fractured pelvis, fractured hip, broken collar bone and 2 cracked ribs, plus 2 broken teeth. A friend rode my Vulcan home and the only damage was a scratched windshield, scratched engine guards and a slightly bent foot rest. I had the front end re-aligned and I'm still riding it. I'm 72 years old now and probably won't EVER need another bike. I had to take a friend to the Harley shop to pick up her bike today (another $1600.00) She has probably spent more on repairs than I did to buy my Vulcan new in 2008. I haven't spent a dime (other than accident and tires) on mine in 5 years and almost 20,000 miles.

After 2 years still a winner
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 27, 2010I purchased mine Apr 2008 off the showroom floor.. as of Aug 2010 I now have 37232 miles on her.. I have put a Corbin seat, highway pegs, better grips... and road time... My longest ride so far is still less than 300 miles... but not for long... I retire in sept. 2010 now Ill really ride..
Kawasaki ... created a winner in the 900 LT. If you need to stay away from the 800 pound beast and yet remain at the head of the pack... Look no further than Kawasaki...

This is a great mid size bike
By (I am a Writer) on Jul 30, 2010My wife bought a Vulcan 2008 LT in 2008,new. Unlike most new bikes this bike is great right off the shelf except for the stock seat. The only things that have been added are a Mustang seat right off the top, the orignal seat was a butt buster, top of the line spark irridium spark plugs and a footrest ... modification. The bike is a sweet and easy ride and very dependable. It has enough juice for any sane person and can really hold it's own on the highway. We have a much bigger and a smaller bike but this Vulcan is about perfect for most situations unless you happen to be a 250 pounder packing a lot of stuff. The stock windshield is large and works just fine. Get a rear fender rack and you're set for a long trip. This is a sweet ride for town and highway and it looks terrific and the price is right. Unless you want to get into perfornance parts shopping stuff, this bike is just fine the way it is. Believe me, I have two other low mileage metrics to compare it with.

Almost 15,000 Miles and Not a Hiccup!
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 23, 2009I purchased my 2008 Vulcan 900 Classic LT on Memorial Day weekend in 2008. I have almost 15,000 miles as of late June 2009. I ride everywhere I can, weather permitting. It's a great bike on the highway and around town. No mechanical problems and the Dunlop tires still have another 5K miles or so ... on them. I average 50MPG no matter what the terrain. Speeds are usually below 75mph for me. I added a light bar, luggage rack, highway bars and pegs, Kuyakin ISO grips. I ride 2-up with my lady several times a week. Added Kuyakin passenger floorboards for her. Made a huge difference. Airhawk seat cushions front and rear eliminated the sore butt syndrome of the stock seat at less than half the price of a Mustang seat. I change the oil and filter every 2500-3000 miles myself...an easy job. All in all, a fantastic bike!

Dollar for dollar, Best bike on the road, LOOKS GOOD TOO!
By (I am an Owner) on May 09, 2009I have had my 900LT for 18 months and it is a great bike, I have had 13 other bikes and dollar for dollar it the best value available. RE: seat issues, I added the removable (ImpactGel) Gell Seat with fleece pad and it really made the difference. I hope Kawasaki adds a 6 speed to their future 900's ... because the bike has enough torque to handle it. I have the blue/silver paint and I get alot of compliments on the bike.

Great Bike- Terrible seat
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 01, 2009My wife and I purchased our 900 Classic LT in late summer, after having not ridden in over 20 years. Everything is great about the bike, EXCEPT.. the standard seat is awful. My wife's butt went numb after about 20 miles. I could get about 30 and that was it. We purchased a Kawasaki Gel Seat ($250) ... and it helped, but not as much as we had hoped. We can go maybe 50 miles but that's about it. Apparently, this is a popular complaint with the bike. We are already thinking of maybe going a little bigger. Because of this seat, I'm not sure that I would purchase another Kawasaki unless we could test ride it for a couple of hundred miles. Other than the seat, it's a great bike.

What a Bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 28, 2009I bought this bike the middle of July and have 4600 miles on it. I used it for commuting to my office which is 40 miles away through some gorgeous Maryland horse country.
I love this bike. I have no problems with it. I replaced the grips and put a Mustang seat ($600) on it. The original ... seat will give you butt numbness.
I have Harley riders pull up next to me and compliment my bike. Not bad considering I paid half of a Harley's cost, and I don't break down. LOL

Solid Ride
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 14, 2009After being off bikes for 15 years, this was a perfect ride to restart on. Plenty of power with easy handling. It came with all the extras at a great price.
Saddle bags, windshield, running boards and backrest all standard. The paint was excellent and stood out with it's two tone ... scheme.
Solid ride to get back into the swing on a mid weight cruiser that looks like a heavy weight and turns heads.

Rough rider
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 19, 2008I bought my Vulcan 900 LT Aug 2008. It looks big enough, functions like it was built to, but for a heavy set guy like me, this bike beats me to death. I bought it to go touring and I found out that with my weight at 300, I can flatten out the seat within 30 miles. I changed the seat to a mustang ... gel seat and it made an improvement to about 90 miles without a rest. I am trying to loose a lot of my weight to see if it makes a difference. If I can make it a tank full (200 miles) without stopping, I'll be happy. For now, my bike is a bar hopper.

Vulcan Rocks
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 03, 2008Great bike!
I live in Chicago got mine in February and had to wait till end of March to be able to ride it. Was looking at Yamaha V-Star Silverado 1100cc but chose Kawasaki. My wait was well worth it,I've put 2900 miles on it and just love this bike.

Kawi Cruiser 08 Vulcan 900 Classic Lt
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 02, 2008I bought my bike this past spring and I ride with my friends who have the big
Harleys and they are amazed that my bike looks and rides just as good as their expensive bikes. I am very pleased with this mid-size cruiser. I
can fall in line on the interstate with
the other bikers ... and they don't seem to mind. It is a great bike!

Awesome First Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 04, 2008I got my 08 Vulcan 900 classic LT about a month ago. My wife and I decided we wanted something both of us could ride together so we knew we needed more than a 750. We tried the Triumph America but found out the pegs for the passenger placed your legs in a more up and down position. There was a ... Vulcan 900 sitting in the same row and she tried that. Loved it ever since.

Wow!!
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 29, 2008What a bike. I bought this mid size cruiser a month and a half ago and have been riding with big cruisers since. I keep up with them no problem and this bike rides great!! I ride with and among the big cruisers and noone can tell the difference. I can tell the difference every month when I make a ... payment on this bike that costs half the price for more features. What a great value for a mid size cruiser with a big cruiser look and feel.
