Great Starter Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 28, 2010I bought this bike back in January, and I love it. It was a toss up between this -- the smallest cruiser they make (I am very slight framed)-- and a moped, and I'm glad I went with the cruiser option. I have had other bikes before, but was only a casual rider (meaning neighborhood and back yard only). ... I mainly use it for commuting to and from work (9 miles/day). I can get on the highway and keep up with traffic @ 65 mph. I can average about 100 miles to the tank, so the fuel efficiency is wonderful; beats out the public transportation system by $30 a month. I don't know that I'll ever tire of this bike. I'm just coming up on my 600 mile scheduled maintenance and feel this bike will last me a good long time.

2009 Rebel
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 16, 2010I bought my 2009 Honda Rebel in March of 2009. It has been a good bike for me transitioning from dirt to street and not having rode anything since 1997. I use it to get back and forth between home and work and a few other stops during the day as needed for my job. On average I drive about 6-8 miles ... a day since my office is only 2.1 miles from my house. I have been averaging anything from 70-85 mpg ( I weight 215 lbs at 6'1") with speeds ranging from 15-40 mph since we don't get to drive too fast on military installations. The only issue I have had with the bike is that my front and rear seats started to split at the seems at 10 months and I fought with Honda for 2 months and after it had passed the one year mark they decided to admit that it would have been covered under the warranty if I would have done it before my 1 year mark. So now I am trying to sell the bike so I can get into a Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide and unless I pay around $200 to get new seats I am not going to get anything out of that bike and I will be stuck with it. These bikes are very hrd to get rid of!!!

Great (re)entry-level bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 22, 2010I've had my Rebel for almost a year now, and I absolutely love riding it. My first two-wheeler was a blue Honda Mini-Trail 50. You couldn't destroy that bike if you tried. Last time I rode was 25 years ago, so I looked at Honda for quality and reliability, and this has bike did not disappoint. ...
I leave the house at 4:30 am, so a loud bike was out of the question. The Rebel is nice and quiet. It shifts effortlessly, and gets me around town (10 miles to work) like a dream.
I added a small windscreen to block some of the cold air off my chest. My next addition will be saddlebags and a backrest. With street speeds of 40-50, I'm getting about 70 mpg, and I weigh 285! I can confidently recommend the Rebel 250 as a reliable city street commuter that's always ready to go. I'll never sell this bike, but if I move up, it will be to a Silverwing.

Great little Bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 15, 2010I bought the Blue 2009 Honda Rebel as my first Bike. Being a new rider and over 50, I wanted a Bike that didn't frighten me with it's big size and high power. The Rebel was perfect. I put 4,000 miles on it in 4 months, riding in all kinds of weather conditions. It's been reliable and fun! I ride ... it around town, as well as the Freeways. Open throttle goes a smooth 83 mph! I had figured to move up to a bigger bike w/in a year, but I like my Rebel so much, I've decided to add accessories and keep it at least 3 ! Perfect Bike for a newbie.

THE BIKE FOR ME
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 09, 2010i have been riding bikes for about 15 years. i have had a bunch of different kind of bikes from 125cc, up to 1000cc. now i have the rebel. alot of people have said thatthe rebel wont do highway speed and that is only a good bike for around town riding. well, i dont know what planet these people are ... from, but it isnt earth. i have taken my rebel on numerous road trips and had no problem. i guess if you want to go a 100mph, then yeah, you need a bigger bike. but lets be honest people, my bike will do 75mph all day long. i have put a 15 tooth sprocket on the front, but it would do it before that. i just wanted to lower the RPMs. i dont see the point of a bigger bike anymore with the price of gas and everything. i have took mine from arkansas to the smoky mountains 3 times. i have been to little sturgis twice. and we are planning a trip to the rockies in the spring. if you like the rebel, get it. if you want a crotch rocket then dont. this bike will go anywhere you want to go. plus it is CHEAP ON GAS. there is an old saying that is very true," IT IS MUCH MORE FUN TO RIDE A SLOW BIKE FAST, THAN TO RIDE A FAST BIKE SLOW". this bike is economical, bulletproof, and fun. buy it!

IN THE WIND
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 09, 2009After having parked my motorcycle some 35 years ago, I decided to get back into riding.Visions of a Harley-Davidson danced in my head. I enrolled in the CA Motorcycle safety class and it was evident I needed practice. Remember learning to ride on a Honda in the '70s I figured what better way to get ... back into riding than on a Honda. The Honda Rebel was an excellent and obvious choice for me. At 6'-3" and 260lbs, It is powerfull enough to get me around town and give me experience. This is an Excellent starter bike for the beginner or for someone, like me, wanting to get back "into the wind" and gain experience and confidence.

Great first bike!
By (I am an Owner) on May 13, 2009I just got the bike in the new blue color two weeks ago and its great! Its my first road bike so im getting used to it on the local surface streets around town. I weigh 229 and the bike moves just fine but you will not beat anyone in a race but a moped. But this bike is designed for MPG and durability. ... Thats the reason i got it. Everyone and their mother has a Harley so if you want the most for your money go with the Rebel...and be one!

2009 Honda Rebel 250
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 28, 2009Its been years since I have been on a bike... and forgot how much that I really LOVE riding!!! Purchased my Rebel just under two months ago and have 1300 miles already. (Lack of miles due to the extreme cold weather) I have been getting on average 63 mpg. at an average speed of 65. I am also a ... heavy man (245 pounds). Most of my travel have been back and forth from school (about 25 miles one way). Would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone. My daughter will be turning 15 in May, and wants to learn how to drive it. It is a great size for her also (she's 110 pounds and has NO trouble with me on it with her).
the ONLY thing that i have an issue with is no interstate driving... fastest I can get it is 78 with a strong back wind. Average max is about 70-73mph... WHICH keeps me out of trouble...

2009 Honda Rebel
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 05, 2008Everyone says that you'll want to trade in the 250 bikes after 200 or 300 miles but i'm up to 2500 and still loving it. Heck ive been riding my brother's Shadow Aero for the last two weeks and I can't wait to get my rebel from the shop (hit a deer a few wks ago).
