started with sporties, went to dynas then to softails. i must say my fatboy was going to be hard to beat but the road king beat it bad. this bike is like riding on air. cruise is wonderful, plenty of power. my wife is is also pleased with her riding position and comfort. can't go back.

Jus t read the other reviews and fully agree with them. My Road King Classic now has 42,000 I put on it all over the US and even to Canada. Just love the ride and handling. The 6 gal tank, cruise control , and the lean angle are superior features. I have No idea what I would replace it with.

  • 09 Road King Classic Rear Suspension Suspension
By  (I am an Owner) on Jan 24, 2011

From the very first ride this bike was bottoming out bad. I hit a rut by a bridge and almost came off the bike. I had to go to the Chiro when I got back to town. I called the dealer Toys For Big Boys in Moncton NB and was told that they hadn't put air in the rear suspension, and that is what they ...

Needless to say the air went in and it wasn't much better. We tried all different pressures , nothing seemed to work. They swapped out the rear unit for a new one and it was the same.

They recommended that I go to Progressive. I did to Progressive 440's.

Harley would not compensate me saying that I was the only one with this problem. The dealer would only compensate me for the value of the stock unit about $285.00. So I had to pay an additional $685.00 for the Progressives. The bike was still hitting hard. I put up with this for that season. At the beginning of the following season I still complained with no result.

I then found out that the dealer had ordered the standard 440's and not the heavy duty as I instructed. I had to get the heavy duty Springs shipped at my expense. The dealer would not even swap them out so I had to also do this at my own expense.

I like the performance , but even with the Heavy Duty Springs this bike isn't giving me the ride my Yammy did.

When I came in here I was expecting to read similar comments, I am surprised.

Maybe most have always ridden Harley and are unaware what a good rear suspension is.

I owned, and thoroughly enjoyed, a Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1600. It was a great bike, but my upgrade to the 2009 Road King Classic brought me to a new level of joy and happiness. Having replaced the handlebars with the "Heritage" version ($79), I find the Road King the most comfortable and easy ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Oct 03, 2009

Awesome, This is my 5th H/D and 2nd Road King Classic. This bike puts the previous years to shame. If there was one thing that I could have changed it would be the spoke wheels, but then it would not be a King Classic!

    Awesome!

I have had my RKC for a few months now and I cannot really find anything I dislike about it. The handlebars are a little too far away for me but getting used to it. The handling is awesome, ABS brakes incredible, power is more than ample. No complainst.
