  • The Ultimate Ride
By  (I am an Owner) on Dec 17, 2020

I purchased my 2007 FLHX at Black Widow HD in Port Charlotte, Florida in October of 2006. Since then I have ridden it 85,000 plus miles with no issues. At 45,000 miles I replaced the clutch plates and brake pads just because I knew they would wear. I have the lifetime oil filter and religiously change ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Jan 07, 2012

I've had my 07 Street Glide for 3 years and 37K miles and wouldn't trade it for the world. I realize lots of folks will say that about their bike but I'm telling ya that its the best bike ever. That is if your in the market for a touring class Harley Davidson. I am all about riding long distances ...

  • A righteous bagger
By  (I am an Owner) on Oct 02, 2008

So, how does a Deuce owner end up in a bagger?

Long story short: Have a really long trip or rent an Electra-Glide once. In my case both things happened, in 2005 I rented an Electra-Glide for the HOG Road Candy Tour (I live in Dominican Republic so riding my bike to the event is out of the ...

So first thing after the ride back from Haiti was getting a bagger... but which one?

After looking at H-Ds Touring line up I found that the FLHX Street Glide offered me just what I was looking for and in the right amounts.

    Comfortable ride:

For rider and passenger particularly with the tall backrest for the ol' lady. The only gripe is that the lowered suspension is just a bit on the harsh side, but thanks to the air adjustable rear shocks you can do some fine tuning.

Also the lower ride suits my height very well, so this is a good choice for short riders.

    Power:

The 96 ci Twin Cam engine has good get up and go power and torque, a true hauler if you put a better air cleaner and correct the AFR mix with a fueler. Total cost under USD 300.

    Music:

And plenty of it! With the Harman-Kardon Advanced Audio System this baby plays MP3 CDs, radio and even an Aux input for you iPod or Zune. Controls integrated into the handlebar allow for safe tinkering with the audio system.

    Looks:

The Street Glide has a peculiar stance, kind of a stripped down bagger, almost saying: Too old for cruisers too young for baggers. Get a model with the denim (flat) color and it is a nasty looking ride.

So now I have everything I wanted... and in the right amount.
