Very Satisfied
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 30, 2011I only have logged about 1000miles on my night rod. My last bike was a Kawi MeanStreak 1500 and the night rod beats it just about everyway. The only thing i do miss from my Kawi was the size of the tank. The VRSC models might not be the fastest cruiser motorcycle out there but it sure does the ... trick for me.

A great bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 10, 2010This is my third Harley after owning a Sportster and a Softail.
THe revolution motor gives a lot of power, and makes this a quick and fast bike.
Had to change to race oil on the front forks.
The bike is a pleasure to ride and gives good control.
On long rides the comfort ... is excellent.

Like a bat out of hell!
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 14, 2009I purchased my Night Rod in June of 06. I have logged 21000 hard miles with some drag racing included. This bike accelerates like electricity but it's not great in corners. This is truly a straight line bike but it does have drawbacks. One being the horrible fuel mileage, my Scion does better than ... this thing. Second would be a typical Harley dealership's service dept. I had the transmission to fail and it took almost a month to have the parts replaced to the expense of close to $5000. So expect any repairs to the powertrain to be costly. Other than that, I am happy with my D.

06 Night Rod
By Jeff Decker (I am an Owner) on Oct 22, 2008I bought an 06 Night Rod about 18 months ago and have put just about 25,000 miles on it. I have properly maintained it at all times and have ridden it fairly hard. This bike is absolutley awesome. I love it so much that I could not help myself and bought another one just like it with only 5 miles ... on it and at some point in time I will start riding it. I would recomend a night rod to anyone that wants to ride around with a huge smile on their face because that is what you will have.

Night Rod
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 11, 2008This is a very capable bike. The Revulution engine has plenty of power and torque. The ride is a bit harsh but with a little work this is a great bike. I changed to foreward controlls and a Sun Downer seat, and the bike fits like a glove. The only other drawback is the 3 1/2 gallon gas tank.

@006 VRSCD Night Rod
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 29, 2008I have owned this very capable bike since the summer of 2005. I bought it as a 40th birthday gift for myself as I already owned a 2001 BMW R1200c cruiser and I traded in a paid for 2001 Triumph Adventurer for the HD.I love the power of the HD. It always amazes me how fast and sporty this bike is. ... It is considered a sport cruiser but I know some who have turned some VRSC's into touring bikes. What I love most about my VRSCD is the fact I belong to one of the best Internet motorcycle clubs, 1130cc.com You have a question or concern? THIS is the PLACE to visit. The level of knowledge is just incredible and second to none. As for the bike itself, it's not the same run of the mill HD. EVERYTHING about the VRSC line is different. I don't think I would have traded my Triumph for your typical HD air cooled bike, why? With some mods, I have actually grown to love this bike as much as my BMW. Now for some dislikes. The stock seat is HORRIBLE. It is uncomfortable plain and simple. I sent out the original seat to be redone by a company called "Butt Buffer." It's helped immensely, but I would only rate it as 95% better, this means there is still some room for improvement. The ride is not as soft or plush as that in my beemer or for my old Triumph for that matter. So hopefully one day I will find some good shocks that will soften the ride a bit. Lastly if I have to find something else to complain about is the lack of expertise from HD themselves. It seems that the VRSC is the forgotten bastard son of HD. TRUE certified VRSC mechanics are few and far between. I have had a oil drain plug rounded off on the corners by inexperienced techs who forget the bike is metric and not SAE and round off bolts and what not, not cool to say the least.

good bike
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 16, 2008To give you a background. I also own a 05 Duc 999 and 02 H-D 883R. I've owned 16 bikes through the years.
I'll start with the motor.
It winds up fast, is quite strong for the rated horsepower and have not had any problems since day one.
Suspension: Front suspension feels ... loose and flops over expansion bumps. Slow speed handling feels more like a chopper. Not a great attribute!
Body/Frame/accessories: Overall fit and finish is very good. Nothing fell off or failed to work properly throughout 4,000+ very hard miles.
