Rear Wheel Defective
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 14, 2011We were so happy to buy our 2010 HD Heritage and looked forward to some great rides. However, we've encountered and ongoing issue with the rear wheel and a string of five flat tires in less than a year (fewer than 10,000 miles on the bike). The dealership doesn't seem to be able to identify the ... problem and at $300 a pop it's getting pretty expensive.
We are disappointed in the that the bike hasn't lived up to our expectations, but hope the problem can be resolved soon.

Will Do It Again
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 31, 2011I traded in my 2005 Heritage for a 2010. I love the ride, the way it handles and the new 6th gear. I did have problems with both bikes when I hit a corner at a higher rate of speed but I figured out how to keep that from happening and still keep up the speed. The only negative thing I found was ... that there wasn't enough power to make it up the mountains in southern Colorado. I'm 57 and carry some weight, so after putting 900 miles on it I had my dealer do stage 1, bore it to a 103, add a cam and can't wait to ride it to Laughlin this year. Over all, I love the ride and that way it looks and will get another when the time comes.

Love the bike, hate the seat for the driver
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 26, 2010I bought my first Harley and have loved it, my dad and my grand father both have had Harley's but nothing recently. I have found the passenger seat is great for my fiancee but the driver seat is not comfortable compared to the Road King on rides over 4 hours... I have been looking for an upgraded ... seat and on the 2011 models they have an upgraded seat but not for the 2010. Mustang has a vinyl seat but I would like to stay with leather. Any great seat suggestions out?

A do it all bike
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 24, 2010Traded my 09 Sportster at the end of July using the "Ride free for a year" Harley program. The Sportster wasn't great for 2 up and wife discovered that she enjoyed riding. I can't find a fault with the Heritage. Very comfortable ride, smooth, plenty of power and excellent, effortless handling. The ... detachable windshield, saddle bags and styling gives you a cruiser and a medium distance touring bike in one package. Though I would rather ride back roads the bike is great on the highway also. Sixth gear has the bike barely revved at 70 mph and the bike is as stable as could be. A very versatile bike.

My 2nd H-D
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 21, 2010Picked up this sweet ride a few Month's ago. I doubt I could be happier. And I agree about the right leg heat. Picking up a heat shield when I can. Probably same time as I do stage one. This bike rides like nothing I've ridden and I've ridden since I was 12 and I'm over 50 now. For me it also took ... a while to get used to the gearing. I found myself lugging the motor a lot. Now I find myself rarely out of 4th or 5th. Thinking of buying one? Do it!

Fabulous motorcycle
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 16, 2010I'm 56 y/o and own two bikes, a Honda VTX 1800 and a Harley Softail Standard. I just got back from flying to Las Vegas where I rented a Heritage Softail Classic from Eaglerider. I put 1,550 miles on it in one week, riding thru Death Valley, up Mt Whitney, across to the coast and Big Sur (lots of ... twists and sharp curves), down to Los Angeles and back to Vegas across the Mojave desert. The bike was wonderful on all counts-- the previous negative post must have been written by someone that needs more experience riding bikes. (And I NEVER scraped the floorboards, even on the sharp turns of Big Sur.) My experience has led me to give myself a Christmas present next month-- I'm trading in my Softail Standard and Honda VTX 1800 on a new Heritage Softail Classic!

WONDERFUL BIKE
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 27, 2010I Love this Bike. I just traded my 2010 H-D Super Glide Custom, that bike was great too. However, it did not love me back. The vibrations just was too much for me handle. Whats the point in riding if your in pain. So, during the 1K service on my Super Glide, I told the dealer of my situation. They ... had me test ride the softail on a six mile course. I was worried at first, because of my short legs. I thought I would not be able to reach the forward controls. Boy, was I wrong. Not only does this bike not vibrate, it corners great. The value can't be beat too. Saddle bags, sissy bar and wind shield ALL standard is a steal in my book. Try this Bike, you will not be disappointed.

New Ride
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 05, 2010I've just picked up my 2010 Heritage Softail Classic it replace a 2000 Yamaha V-Star Classic.
Whilst both bikes are similar in configuration I just love the feel of the Harley. For me at least it is a more comfortable ride with plenty of get up and go.
Really looking ... forward to getting kilometres clocked up on this bike. Go to work and sit there thinking I could be out touring.
One thing I have noticed compared to my old V-Star the footboards scrape easier.

Sweet Ride
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 26, 2010This is my second Heritage, the first being a 2006 FLST. The 2010 has many great features over the '06. I like the power, shifting is right there - really no need for a tach. Mileage went from around 42 to over 50 after break in period. I like the new style handlebars over the older models, they ... provide miles of comfort. I am only 5'-6" with boots on and am very comfortable with ride height. If I have any gripes about the Heritage, it would be the saddlebags. Why can't Harley provide a bag built like the Road King Classic so they retain their shape. All in all, a wonderful motorcycling experience. The wife is still comfortable after 400 miles and we are both over 50.

Enjoying the ride
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 23, 2010Just traded my '06 streetbob for the '10 Heritage and I could not be happier. The ride is very smooth and nice power also. It took about 18 hrs to hit the 500 mile break in period. It has not disappointed me in anyway as of yet. The only thing I could say negative is the mpg is not what they claim. ... My wife says its the best bike she has ever ridden, this includes Ultra claccics' Metrics. I agree with her it is definately worth consideration if you are in the market for a bike.

it's a pig
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 23, 2010I rented this bike for 'Bike Week' in Laconia NH. What a disappointment. It's nicely styled and the overall riding position is pretty comfortable, but the good ends there. It features an impossibly weak front brake, the windscreen cuts at exactly eye level thus distorting the road surface, it has ... NO tach making shifting a guess, the gearing is too far apart (and there is no speed at which 6th is comfortable, and I had it up to 90mph), and the bike starts to shudder above 70. Furthermore, the footboards are so low that I scraped them in almost every corner, leaving a trail of sparks. I must conclude that regular riders of Harleys don't lean in the corners. The bike has tons of torque, but no perceivable power-band, making cornering a tricky event.
I was prepared to really like this ride, and I was profoundly disappointed.

Relaxed ride
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 10, 2010I bought my 2010 Heritage Softail Classic in January in northern indiana and rode it home to central indiana (52 miles)32 degrees outside. this bike loves cold weather. As with all Heritage's your right led really feels the heat from the rear cylinder when its above 75 degrees outside or your stopped ... in traffic. Rode the bike from Indianapolis to Dallas at the end of March with strong winds most of the way. I would like to know where Harley-Davidson comes up with their MPG because the best mpg I got is 47 mpg at 55 mph, 42 mpg at 65 mph, 35 mpg at 70-75 mph, and 25 mpg at 95+ mph. I average about 43 mpg due to driving conditions in my area. Most people that I have ridden with say that I change gears at too low of rpm, however I change gears according to the owners manual. As far as the rest of the bike goes I love it. Its a smooth ride, corners great for a bigger bike, and everyone seems to like it. Don't trust the miles until next fill up part of the gage (it read 50 miles of gas left and it started cutting within 7 miles). The engine guard really works (I forgot to put the kick stand down once and it rolled off the kick stand once) it saved the bike twice. I tend to ride a little long because I am so relaxed.

One sweet ride
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 13, 2010I have ridden motorcycles for almost 40 years and owned both Harley's and and metric bikes. I checked out all the Harley Davidson models and chose the 2010 Heritage. The bike feels like it was custom made just for me. It is very comfortable and easy to handle both in town and on the road. I love ... the retro look of the bike. The 96" motor has plenty of power and the 6 speed tranny is great on the road. P.S. Chicks dig the bike too!
