A rattling ball of fun
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Dec 29, 2009I've ridden a bunch of small bikes ans scooters and not since a 1970s Vespa or a 1960s Lambretta has a scooter pulled like the Buck 10.
I should say I don't own one, but I've borrowed a friend's and it's a blast, so I can't really comment on reliability so I'll say better-than-average. My ... daily ride is 1971 Honda CB175, but I would trade it for a Rattler. The little guy gets up and goes like a two-stroke should, which is to say, quickly with a lot of torque. I'm a small guy, 125 pounds, and with me on it, the 110 ran great to 60 miles-per-hour and smoked bigger bikes - like a new Vespa GT250 - off the line. Only the old hot-rodded Vespas could keep up. Considering the new price, there isn't a scooter around that would keep up. And, because it's light and low, it handles well, too. It's a good step up from a 50cc or 150cc four-stroke bike, without getting too big.
