Steer Clear
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 09, 2009Make sure you check out the K-Bikes forum before you buy one of these. Know what you are getting into. These bikes are not like the Japanese gas and go machines. They are finicky and wrought with problems. Mine has spent a lot of time in the shop. The bike rides wonderfully when it runs right. But ... the engine has issues with fuel delivery. There was a recall on the air box. The issues have a way of returning despite software updates and repairs. I'm planning to get rid of mine and go back to a Japanese bike. It's profoundly stupid for a bike that costs more than my wife's new Accord to be this way!

Longer Rides
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 16, 2008I've had the bike since November 2007 and have put over 8,000 miles on it including a 1,000 mile day. The bike is very comfortable and stable all the time. From expansion joints to pot holes, the bike is an absolute pleasure to ride. The electronic suspension adjustment and electric windscreen make ... any environment a pleasure. I just wish it had air conditioning on the hot days.
There is little to no heat felt from the engine, even on hot days. Fuel mileage is in the high 30's to low 40's riding aggresivley. Mid 40's with a medium hand. My only gripe is when putting the transmission into 1st from neutral after it has warmed up. It clunks, so I've learned to put it into 1st right when I come to a stop or hold the clutch in for 5 seconds before it goes into 1st. I've also learned to bearly pull the clutch in when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 3rd. It's almost like I don't need a clutch in those gears. Tire mileage is about 6,000 miles for the rear and 9,000 for the front, but again, that with aggressivley riding. It's very ego boosting knowing you have one the finest machines on the road. I'm very happy to own this machine, if only for a year or two.
