Zero Motorcycles will provide primary support for K Squared Racing in the FIM e-Power race, July 23-25 at Laguna Seca.

K Squared Racing rider Kenyon Kluge, also Zeros director of engineering, will ride a modified Zero S. Kluge and K Squared Racing also competed in the first TTXGP race at Infineon Raceway, finishing fifth. The race was won by Shawn Higbee who raced for a joint entry by Zero Motorcycles and Agni Motors.

Electric motorcycle racing is evolving rapidly and by supporting K Squared Racing Zero is helping showcase what is possible by using a modified production model, says Gene Banman, chief executive officer of Zero Motorcycles. Kenyon is an extremely talented racer and we are proud to be supporting him and K Squared racing as he sets out to represent Zero during the FIM e-Power International Championship.

The nine-lap race will be part of the U.S. Grand Prix, which includes the MotoGP championship and AMA Pro Racing. The e-Power race is scheduled for 11:25 am on July 25, immediately after the AMA Daytona Sportbike race.

The first two rounds drew six entries, each, drawing criticism for the meager grid. The Laguna Seca round is expected to field more entries however. The final entry list has not yet been posted, but the FIM has announced five European teams will participate. Brammo also announced its participation with its newly unveiled Empulse.

Zero Motorcycles will also provide demos of its 2010 models at Laguna Seca during the U.S. Grand prix.
