Tech 3 Yamaha unleashes the Monster

Partition separates Edwards and Toseland camps

Monster Tech 3Yamaha has unveiled its new livery for the 2009 MotoGP season.

The team unveiled its new livery, a black and yellow paint scheme with the green logo of new title sponsor Monster Energy, in Jerez, Spain, ahead of the final pre-season MotoGP test.

Riders Colin Edwards and James Toseland will ride the new Monster-clad Yamaha YZR-M1 during the March 28-29 test.

Tech 3 Yamaha was the highest-placing satellite team in the 2008 MotoGp season, finishing fourth in the final team standings on the strength of two podium results and 11 top-six finishes.

Colin Edwards (left) finished 7th in the 2008 MotoGP standings. James Toseland (right) finished 11th.

The satellite team will also follow factory squad Fiat Yamahas example and introduce a dividing wall to separate its two riders. Fiat Yamaha separated riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo along with their respective crews in the 2008 season and will do so again in 2009.

Tech 3 Yamahas decision to separate its two riders comes after the team decided to swap crew chiefs following the 2008 season. The swapping of crew chiefs has reportedly been a source of conflict between the two riders.
