Suzuki recalls 2008 Hayabusa
Improperly routed wiring could cause loss of power American Suzuki Motor Corp. has issued a recall notice for the 2008 Hayabusa.
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Jun. 25, 2008
According to a recall notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the lead wire of the ignition switch harness on a 2008 Hayabusa may be incorrectly routed, causing it to bend rather than slide when the handlebar is moved from side to side.
Repeated handlebar movements can cause damage to the ignition switch lead wires, resulting in intermittent or complete loss of electrical power.
2008 Hayabusa owners are advised to visit Suzuki dealerships for an inspection. If the problem is detected, dealers will reroute the lead wire by replacing the lower portion of the ignition switch.
An estimated 9,109 motorcycles could be affected by this problem.
