AMA Sports has announced new contingency and sponsorship commitments for its Road Race Grand Championships, Sept. 19-21 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

Motorcycle marques Buell, Kawasaki and Suzuki as well as tire manufacturers Bridgestone, Dunlop, Michelin and Pirelli, have announced contingency payments for the AMAs premier amateur road racing event.

Arai Helmets has also signed on to sponsor the Road Race Grand Championships. Arais Brian Weston and Bruce Porter have also donated two helmets autographed by top AMA Superbike racers. One helmet will be awarded to the winner of the Horizon award for the rider with the most promise for success as a professional racer and the second will go to the top rookie racer at the event.

Rose and Earl Hayden, parents of road racing brothers Nicky, Tommy and Roger Hayden, will launch a new online store of memorabilia from their sons, the Hayden Brothers General Store. Merchandise autographed by the Hayden brothers will be given away at the Road Race Grand Championships.

Were pleased that the Hayden family and Arai helmets have graciously chosen to support the AMA Sports Road Race Grand Championships, says Anthony Grilli, national technical manager for AMA Sports. This event showcases the talent of the very best grassroots road racers from around the United States and these two well-respected brands are an excellent fit with this unique amateur racing program.
