Technical center provides factory-level training
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Mar. 09, 2009
Piaggio Group Americas has opened a new national technical center in Costa Mesa, Calif.

The 12,000 square foot facility will house the companys testing and technical training operations for its U.S. and Canadian dealerships and Latin American importers for Piaggios various brands including Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa.

The technical center will provide dealers and importers with access to the Italian companys design, engineering and manufacturing knowledgebase.

While many manufacturers choose to train technicians at technical colleges, we believe that nothing compares to getting the inside story about the latest Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio or Vespa straight from the factorys own technical experts,

Piaggio's new techinical center will provide service technicians with training from factory experts on vehicles including Vespa scooters.
says Erik Larson, director of technical service and warranty for Piaggio Group Americas. Factory-level training means that our dealer service professionals will learn from the very best the technical professionals who were part of a new motorcycle or scooter models actual development. And, that first-hand factory expertise translates into a real service edge for Piaggio dealers.

The new technical center will also give Piaggio a new home base for road and off-road testing.
