The Edge of Sanity P2 - Heavy Fuel

Last time I was sober, man I felt bad
Worst hangover that I ever had
It took six hamburgers and scotch all night
Nicotine for breakfast just to put me right
`cos if you wanna run cool...

Cobwebs of the brain are hard to shake sometimes. The best way to clear the mind is an early morning ride when the Mist of Avalon beckons you to explore a mountain road. Down the mountain, lean to the right and plunge into the fog, cross a small bridge and power up the other side. Lean left and back to the right, not too hard and not too fast, as you need to have some lean-to/reaction time in reserve. Be smooth, look through the curve and make poetry out of a combination of exhaust note and fluid motion. Life is best at this moment...

There are no Earthly Bonds, as I am the Silver Surfer and the Universe is my playground.

My life makes perfect sense

Lust and food and violence

Sex and money are my major kicks

Get me in a fight I like dirty tricks

`cos if you wanna run cool

Her piercing blue eyes look into mine and make me uncomfortable. I almost ask if she looks at everyone like that but all I wanted to do was pay her for the gasoline. Heavy fuel, very heavy fuel. Youth is wasted on the young.

yes if you wanna run cool, you got to run

on heavy, heavy fuel

I fire up the bike and gently leave the small town. Highway 300 is tight and demands concentration. The road is mine or do I belong to the road? Theocracy is sweet reality. "God Rides a Harley!" Yea, but Jesus Rides a Sportbike. This is Adventure and Excitement not meant for the Common Man. I am a Freeman. The bike is a Gift to the Spirit.

My chick loves a man who's strong

The things she'll do to turn me on

I love the babes, don't get me wrong

Hey, that's why I wrote this song

It is strange how a machine can have Character and Personality that only the owner can truly know and appreciate. There are no regrets. Everything that has happened in life has led me to this point. With the clarity of a dream, I know why I am here on this earth. This feeling. This emotion. I will carry with me into the next life this Gift. The Spiritual entities will share this with me when I arrive there. Even the Angels will be envious.

I don't care if my liver is hanging by a thread

Don't care if my doctor says I ought to be dead

When my ugly big bike won't climb this hill

I'll write a suicide note on a hundred dollar bill

`cos if you want to run cool

yes if you wanna run cool, you got to run

on heavy, heavy fuel

Thanks to Mark Knopfler for the song...

Dire Straits performed for some of us soldiers in Germany back in 1980. It was in a little small EM Club. I will always be grateful for the Experience.
