Yamaha FJR1300 Reader Feedback

From the start, Yamaha's engineers had it in their heads to build somethingthat was the perfect blend of "super sport performance with long-distanceluxury." What they gave us, it seems, is nearly a damn fine big-bore sportbikein the manner of the old YZF1000, but wrapped in the bodywork of a damnfine light touring rig.

From a distance, Yamaha's new FJR1300 looks serious, especially with its color-matchedstandard hard bags and the electronically adjustable windscreen in the upposition. Closer inspection reveals some seriously thoughtful attention todetail like an oil filter that's right there on the lower left side of the engine, available for easy parking-lot oil changes withoutthe removal of any bodywork whatsoever. The drain plug's easy to get to, ofcourse, as is the nifty little two-position preload adjuster located just underyour left thigh once you stop looking at stuff and get on board the thing...

So, from here you know the deal. Check out the story and let us know what you think of Yamaha's later Super Sport Tourer.
