While the following excerpt from a story printed in today's Orlando Sentinel isn't (by any stretch of the imagination) breaking news, it is motorcycle-related. It's good press showing that one of us (a motorcyclist) can do nice things for other people (shock). It also has a 4th of July flavor to it. And today being the 4th of July...

John Stevens appears to be a normal man. He's a motorcycle mechanic with a wife, 3-year-old son and another baby on the way.

Tuesday night, however, shortly after 9:30 p.m., he roared across Cranes Roost Lake on a water scooter, went up a ramp and leaped through a ball of fire, setting off a 20-minute fireworks extravaganza that kicked off Independence Day celebrations around Central Florida...

"Wow," said Josue Cadorette, 10, of Sorrento.

"Awesome," said his mother, Ivelisse Norris, 34, of Sanford.
