World Superbike champion Colin Edwards arrives at Misano this week in aconfident mood as the Castrol Honda rider bids to close the gap betweenseries leader, Ducati's Troy Bayliss, and himself in Sunday's eighth round.

Edwards topped the test times at the Adriatic coastal circuit last week andthe 27-year-old from Conroe, Texas believes Misano could be the venue forhis fourth victory of the year.

"We had a great test at Misano last week and learned so much more about theVTR and the Michelin tires," said Edwards...

"I'm heading there for the racesand hoping to put the Misano jinx of recent years behind me."

"It's a circuit where I've struggled in the past but we've no reason tobelieve that will be the case on Sunday. It's going to get tighter at thetop of the championship points table so I'd like to think I can get aheadand start to ease away - two wins on Sunday will go a long way towardsthat."

Edwards is 23 points behind leader Bayliss with Troy Corser - a doublewinner at Misano last year on the Aprilia - third, 19 points behind theHonda man.

Castrol Honda last won at the 2.52-mile circuit when Aaron Slight tookvictory in both races in 1998.
