Bayliss Fastest Ducati at Misano

Ducati Corse completed a two-day test session at the 4.060 km MisanoAdriatico circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday, just days after taking bothwins in Monza's Round 5 of the championship on Sunday.

Double Monza winner Australian Troy Bayliss and Ruben Xaus were presentfor Ducati Infostrada as the factory squad prepared for the Misanoround of the championship, scheduled for June 22-24.

Bayliss ran a total of 72 laps today, setting an unofficial best timeof 1m35.65s on race tires, three-tenths of a second under the Superbikelap record set by Aprilia's Troy Corser last year...

Air/track temperatures were 22° / 30° and the work program includedthe testing of several new tire compounds and suspension set-up for theSan Marino round.

"I felt really good here today," commented Bayliss. "We managed to geta lot of things sorted out for the Misano race and I'm looking forwardto coming here in June."

Xaus's quickest time was 1m36.81s and the Spanish rider did a total of69 laps today.

Ben Bostrom (Ducati L&M) missed the test as he is still recovering from hiscrash in the first race at Monza. Ben is recovering rapidly. The swelling on hisright knee has been reduced and the Californian is undergoing physiotherapytreatment on hispartially dislocated right shoulder in order to be fit for nextweekend's Donington WSBK round.
